Pure speculation on phase connect’s no penis allowed policy:
Fish head guy probably had investors to sponsor all those live2d models. That means they needed to be enticed into giving moni. And that would require having a business model. Which could have been copy pasted from popular agencies floating about. Probably with idol inclinations.
And only after getting said money Pippa’s and Tenma’s talents with their antics came into picture. So it’s probably just an unnecessary but hard to overcome contractual obligation at this point.

The problem with this theory is that Sakana has publicly stated that he does/did not have any investors and that the company was struggling to make money/stay even (granted, this was in August and things could've changed by now, but he definitely did not have investors at the beginning).

Just to present a different opinion: I like hearing this language, especially from Risu, as well as Ollie. I love how they pronounce the prolonged "r". Bear in mind that I don't know that language at all (besides "boah dada" thanks to people of culture in this thread).

Someone in Pippa's chat just asked about the possibility of male collabs and she said that she's pretty sure all of Phase-Connect are banned from them completely.

Tenma tweeted the same thing when she had asked people for collabs and male vtubers started to show up. But yeah, it's kinda weird - probably a relic of the original idea for the group.

She does seem to be upping her game a bit when it comes to advertising herself. She posted a link to her new cover on /r/Anime, 14 hours before she even posted it on /r/Hololive. Which is honestly a pretty smart way of reaching more/new people. And I was honestly kind of expecting the reception to be lackluster there, possible Anime purists and all, but it's got like 3500 points and 98% upvotes.

Edit: Also, with Kronii recently released her schedule, most anons on /∞/ didn't take the 3 breaks well with only a few fine with it. But the rest were either butt hurt mad, frustrated, annoyed, or in the case of one of the local goslingfag/writefag was getting PTSD for when his oshi was Ayame. Pippa mentioned mentioned somewhere that if she could she would probably be a manager and not a talent but she doesn't have money and that Sakana was making bank which leads me to believe that this is some sort of side project for him and all of the funding came from his pocket. He is probably hoping than in a year or year and a half he well be making money off it. As for why the no-penis rule, guessing hes just a fucking weeb and is adopting the same Idol model which Hololive is based on (which they have started to slowly separate from).

You cannot avoid deluded people thinking they have a right to an anime girl on the internet and hurling shitloads of money behind it, but a Canadian company like Phase Connect should not be leaning into the Unicorns whilst simultaneously hiring people like Pippa, Tenma, and Lia. Reading Chris-chan court documents does not scream 'Idol' to literally anyone.

Let it be known that even Hololive and Nijisanji - the two biggest companies in Japan and historically most prone to stalkers and sweaty deluded otaku retards - do not currently have a formal 'ban' on mixed gender collaborations even if individuals choose to avoid it. Aqua, for example, did collaborate with men and even interacted with Kuzuha on stream before rebranding into an 'I am so socially inept' idol everyone bought into, and she'll never go back. But then you also have Towa and Matsuri bringing literal eSports pedigree to the brand whilst collaborating with men.

Very meh and not at all congruent with how PC girls act. It's like banning fucking Gundou.

Suisei said in stream she'd like to go again with a proper guide since she kind of just wandered aimlessly, and Suisei "Aimless" is extra aimless, she ended up out in the wilderness a couple times. So Calli can have her chance.

On the bright side though she continued the streak of the EN server's fortune stick's being oddly accurate. Pulled Cursed luck, and later tripped into the mystery death hole.

One thing I come into a realization lately. Coco is super disconnected from Western meme culture. She probably use Japanese social media almost exclusively since she come to Japan in her late teen. Like, she doesn't get that mean ass. Her meme review is her trying to get the joke with some research prior or on the spot, while Kiara innately get the joke as a terminal online person she is.

In the West, though they exist, they are shunned in practically every community and there aren't really any instances of companies leaning into them to maintain business. The biggest American/British girlbands/boybands openly dated and they were usually with other celebrities a normal deluded fan couldn't possibly compare to. There isn't a historic culture of giving these people the time of day, so Phase Connect doing it sticks out like a sore thumb.
