If your favorite hololive member's voice changes one day, and you find out she's replaced with a different streamer playing the same character, how upset would you be on a scale of "meh" to "autistic meltdown"?

This is a truth I find both hilarious and depressing. The amount of times I've seen people shit on Vtubers if they're suspected of having a boyfriend. Is it truly that difficult to just watch them for entertainment?

Bonds of attachment fire up jealously for some. It is only human behaviour for sexuality to embrace drawn depictions of human(oid) characters, but it is retard behaviour to actually get pissed because your fave chuuba is a healthy young man or woman with a normal sexual life!

Here in the West perhaps only the most raging virgins get angry over this, but in Japan? Things get crazy!

There's precedent for this and they didn't even attempt to salvage the character after the termination.

I imagine terming a vtuber is a massive legal hassle because of all the parties involved, so they'd rather just go scorched earth than recast. They'd also be out of their mind to try and swap the talent while pretending nothing happened when there's so much scrutiny over everything these girls do.

Hitomi Chris is an outlier, she fucked up to the point of no return. Hololive has and had some talents that cross traditional idol boundaries for a living, e.g. Haachama, Marine, Coco, Matsuri, Amelia, even Miko to an extent. Coco didn't get fired despite many conflicts with the managers, Haachama didn't get thrown under the bus with the Taiwan affair, Hitomi Chris fucked up to the point of laying collateral on her illustrator!

She can be considered an example of what happens when you go too far outside the job lol!

Definitey wouldn't work. People (including me) like these girls for their personalities. If they were placed then instead of being exaggeration of someone's behavior it'd be just someone 100% acting. It wouldn't be the same, I'd definitely unsubscribe because the appeal would be lost.

Precisely, there are some talents you simply can't replace. Good luck pulling off a replacement for Pekora, Amelia, Mori and other unique talents, even the less notorious ones aren't easy to replace and doing so after their debut creates a colossal spillover, shitting up the company's reputation. Easier for them to simply terminate them!
