I didn't see it discussed (finally caught up with the thread) and tbh I don't know shit about FGC. What I do know is that he doesn't care about anyone else.

"friend of mine for a while" - John Gordon probably saw the light and wanted to play with people more skilled and who behaved like humans.

"The world is going to be massively empty bc of his loss. RIP sir..." - Phil throws just a common phrase out there. I also doubt he knew this guy beyond superficial interactions. What does massively empty even mean?

"Guys like John Gordon (FlashG), Paul Cordeiro (Paul Wall) were outstanding positive people and despite not talking in ages, I miss them." - No one wants to talk to you. Phil himself wouldn't make any effort to contact them too. I bet he fears getting negative responses (like getting mocked or "who the fuck are you?") from the FGC people or other groups. Phil needs his delusions. The only human contacts he has left, outside of horsemaid Kat, are cashiers and hairdressers.

I liked his vids, but I remember hearing him say verbatim what Phil says in his begging, can't remember what exactly but it was similar enough that I thought he was making a joke. Pretty off-putting when I realized he was for real.

Last night An1337 was promoting other streamers/creators, telling people how to help them out, while refusing superchats. Absolute chad.

I think it is fine for detractors to leave open avenues for contributions, especially someone creating longform, decent content but maybe have some self awareness when deciding whether to promote those avenues. I know he at least pays the dude who does his thumbnails and shit, which is good.

This guy is a curious one. He's the ultimate DSP A-log in my opinion. I've never seen someone with so much hatred for Phil.

Like, I get it. Phil's a scammer. He really is a shitty person. But this guy takes it to some extreme levels with his hatred. His voice shakes in anger when he's insulting Phil. It's really bizarre.

I feel like most of the distaste for Phil’s begging is pairing the begging with living/spending irresponsibly.

Or Need For Speed: Payback, when he'd be driving into oncoming traffic visible for several seconds and start literally screaming about the game "spawning cars directly infront of him". It was really jaw dropping incompetence, like it made me question how he hasn't died irl. His autistic refusal to wear glasses is one part of it, but I think he just doesn't have natural reflexes, he just experiences something and then has to slowly mentally consider what move he should make, and by then he is crashing into a car or getting his face caved in by an opponent. The only reason he can manage SF2 is pure muscle memorization, hence he cannot adapt to someone with a new strategy and says they are somehow cheating.

Edit: I also think he might assume everyone else is the same way, since he acts totally bewildered and incredulous any time a game mechanic expects you have reflexes or instinct.

Funny you brought that game up. Its one of my favorite TIHYDPs. As it is for many others. But, my personal favorite reason is the way he gets about the AI getting advantages. Like, he wants the AI to have this 50/50 chance of breaking so he can just get an easy win. Like any other gamer would call that game a broken mess. But, he cannot understand the idea of a challenge. To such a magnitude that he wants the game to literally just hand him a win

The main issue is that he begs for money for groceries and stuff while at the same time throwing money at gacha and doordhash by the hundreds. This is what makes alot uf peeple feel disdain for Phil. He wouldn't need to beg so hard and for making up reeemergencies if he were more mindful with his spending. then again Phil is a lolcow so this is more or less expected.

imo if I were to make videos I’d rather there be an avenue open for people to support if they choose rather than force it onto everyone via ads on the video (even if most people Adblock regardless) but that’s just me. 99% of people will ignore it or not support but my conscience would be clean at least.

I’ll just give my 2 cents about the whole ’detractors monetize their videos’ because why not.

Like sweet @Nigel of Ukip said people put in work so if they want to be compensated fair enough, and I really don’t want to resurrect SOK 2.0 with some arbitrary rules between what is allowed and not when detracting with all the gay ops that such behavior usually breathes life into.

I do however find it very ironic when a detractor unironically have a begment.txt in their videos and starts using the same phrases as Dave as well, even more so when said detractor looks very emotionally invested and a bit MATI.

Going into the ’support’ itself putting adds on videos is not something I would ever see as I use add block like everyone else here, so that’s whatever.

But again it all becomes a bit much if any detractors starts to actively push the various means to give ’support’.

SOK as far as I remember, it was something Fred was VERY invested in, never really understood how that guy was wired.

In retrospect him choosing Tony Montana as his avatar was pure comedy because that's who he was LARPing as. He ran the SoK like a criminal organization, ordering "hits" on both his opposition (DSP and his paypigs) as well as "allies" (other detractors) that didn't fit in with his autistic vision of what ethical detracting should be or ones he feared were becoming disloyal. He became increasingly paranoid and started to distrust everyone, even people in his inner circle, which eventually turned into those same people distrusting him. In the end he didn't go out in a blaze of glory like Tony, from what I remember he just posted some non-apology on Twitter and never returned.
