Early Hololive was very very small, Sora only had 13 viewers that weren't family, friends, or staff. She was alone for an entire year until Roboco came along. A number of them came close to quitting in the early days, Miko for example. Aki as well because the income was too low (can't eat hopes and dreams). When people mention salary from Hololive, it's only $200 USD a month according to Kanata (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpw7b1qV3qw) (prior to monetization).

Numbers by the years, Fubuki, Korone, and Aqua hitting strides late 2019/early 2020, the big boom didn't happen until late 2020.

Even Gen 3 was slow at the start as well, even though at this point they were big enough on the scene to pull big talents from NicoNico (Noel, Marine, Pekora - can't remember about Flare and Rushia).

Here's Flare and Korone when she reached 50k (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPhlrj-v_oI). They really had to claw their way upwards.

Edit - Fun fact, if you look at EN 2, you can see 2 noticable dips from YT bots going wild getting rid of subscribers.
Is funny how all of us ended here because a White fox anime girl decided that it was fun to sing Scatman and youtube decided to feature it to the weebs

Speaking of which, I wonder why Fubuki privated that one
DMCA, iirc she reuploaded it

To add the boom of hololive started with FBK then before the big boom, everyone encountered the Orange dragon that meme'd a entire branch by herself and here we are seeing Kronii sucking at DARQ

The influence of the orange dragon is immeasurable

If I recall Hololive was quite discreet until Miko played that part in GTAV when Franklin gets roasted, after which she said the gamer word and the twitter body snatchers decided to "cancel" her, but it backfired and she became insanely popular.
They weren't prepared for the fact that black people find anime girls saying nigga hilarious.

Why do janny trannies feel like speaking for the talents?
Your fucking job is to moderate no-no words, thats it, fucking do it.

Won't get into any pants that way. Gotta be exceptional at your job for that.
In general, though, someone who's up for the job of enforcing what can and can't be said is at least more likely than average to be someone who enjoys telling other people what they can and can't say. Getting upset on somebody else's behalf is par for the course.

Watching Rosemi's stream I think all the brands should invest in custom gloves for the streamers to make it look better than weird off the shelve too big gloves.
I always thought it was intentional that the big gloves they'd wear for irl cam stuff like cooking was some sort of anti-dox measure. Rosemi's roommate for example is a fucking stick irl according to what I've heard but wearing slightly bigger gloves doesn't give that impression.
Remember Namesarehardtocomeupwith? He brought a tonne of well structured info. When was the last time he wrote anything here?
Namesarehardtocomeupwith shilling for Nijisanji in this thread is what pushed me into getting more interested in them while I was mostly a Hololive-only watcher. I would dip into Nijisanji occasionally but it was mostly the Niji Livers that would get branded on /jp/ as "Hololive adjacent" being the ones generate a fair amount of clips at had 1 big beaten to death meme associated to them at the time.
Every main western space for discussing vtubers is going to be Holofan dominated. As someone who is more into Niji, I will say that this place is better than the alternatives (Reddit and /vt/) in my short experience.
Discussing Nijisanji on /vt/ can be hard because half the time the threads are shit up by drive by tribalists.
Dicussing Nijisanji on /jp/ (those threads still exist apparently) is like talking to the wall of a building to let you in. Its not fucking happening and the one door to enter is locked.
The r/Nijisanji Reddit is not even close to the activity of r/Hololive or r/VirtualYoutubers. I fucking hate reddit but at least Its nice that some of the talents still (attempt) to talk to the western fans over there. I grew to liking Akane if only because of that.

Pippa's talking about not liking the vtuber community and wants to return to 2016 internet. She wants a "toxic space" and misses when you could tell someone to kill themselves in game and it was normal. This is so great.
Pippa should just sell her soul and stream League or Dota with Lia to re-experience that era of the Internet. :smug:

Not sure if this worth anything, but MatPat said in a recent video that there's enough ad revenue in being a youtube partner that people are going full time at only 10k subs. While the lesser performing Holos may be way behind in superchats and memberships, Ad revenue on top of merchandising are probably the bigger piece of the pie.
Good to know. Maybe it's because the content creators I have heard the 100k from are usually the political commentary kind who get their shit demonetized left and right because they don't have the right opinions.

And by the time 2nd gen debuted (certainly 3rd gen), it's become big enough you'd have to prove your salt before you can join. I shudder what would've happened to Subaru, who had no prior experience prior to Hololive and had nothing but passion, had she not gotten in at the time she did.
A bit sad to be honest knowing that there are probably dozen of Subaru-like girls out there but they are too normie to make it in the V-tuber world.

Which one of you crazy bastards keep pumping a hundred bucks into Pippa?

I like bullying Pippa because she doesn't know why random person donates $100USD as anonymous with no message. Also Tenma. Plus I get a fixed income for the rest of my days from the government for reasons so might as well share it, can't do much with it. She was just talking about superchattos and doesn't know how to thank someone because $100USD for some people is a lot and I agree, and if she does read it here, don't worry about it. Spend it however you want. I just enjoy the content.

Government subsidized chuubas?

I have been wondering, can you have more than one credit card/paypal account affiliated with Twitch?
I find incredibly odd that Pippa suddendly changed her mind about switching platforms, when she was one of the first proponents in PC., specially now that Tenma has been consistently streaming there

I doubt management actually polices who talents interact with in their personal affairs since that just seems draconian and overbearing as hell. Calli still definitely hangs out with them though. In the TakaMori MC collab the other day she talks about drinking her "gamer juice that doesn't sponsor me" because her "friends had a ton stocked at their office and told me to take some." Also the tweet a few months back of her and Syd at the same place.

I wouldn't hold it against her though. As an expat, finding people you can clearly talk to can be hard and you take what you can get especially if they're in the same field. Even if one is a complete exceptional individual, at least the other two have some semblance of professionalism.
She also mentioned that she tried some home grown chili recently and one of TT people(their manager i think) said she grows peppers.
probably best that she doesn't mention them by name though.

Pippa's been schizophrenic lately over many different things.
More than usual.
She's probably made peace that she's never going to find a boss that'll let her tard out like fishman does.
More or less said she's content with her current lot on SusanTube the last few streams.
Most likely she's partitioned SusanTube with Phase Connect and Twitch with Yuni.

So to summarize the past couple pages.

Connor = Privilege shit
Kiara = Emotional shit
Anya = stubborn shit

Anyways looking forward to EN new costume reveals I just hope Gura doesn't get another little girl outfit.
I was not paying much attention while reading, what's the anya situation
