Game of Thrones Thread

Two and a half years later, and the way this series ended still pisses me off when I think about it. Fuck George R.R. Martin; that fatass hack will never finish his stupid books, so the TV series ending is the only ending we're going to get.

I'll never forget this joke that a friend said out loud while watching the second to last episode:

"Game of Thrones? More like 'Game of Crohn's,' am I right? ... Because it's shitty and painful."

I joke a lot, but I never truly hated humanity until I saw grown adults wearing Marvel merch holding their faces in religious ecstasy because a character on a shitty show did something. They are literally having a spiritual awakening while watching one of the most generic shows ever created. It's like having an orgasm while watching The Jeffersons.

I remember a recent interview where martin outright expressed relief they didn’t bother to ask him about Winds.

He knows he isn’t going to finish it, but he doesn’t have the balls to just admit it. He’ll leave his fans hanging when he dies.

He went from an obscure writer to household name and he’s going to die obscure and forgotten, his legacy trashed because he just wouldn’t finish the damn series.

JFC just looking at this thumbnail is making me want to slap some sense into him.

Consumerism is his religion and seeing the correct brand with the correct fanfare on screen is to him what was watching the daily propaganda reel to Winston by the end of 1984.
This person disgusts me on a level I would not have thought possible for someone who I have only watched for a few seconds in a video.

This person is not sane and I don't pay their mental illness or them any respect. This is not a fan, it's not even a fanatic, it's a completely brainwashed consoomer drone.

At this point, Dany has 3 full grown dragons, the Unsullied, the Dothraki, Dorne, the Reach, and a sober Tyrion as her advisor. She's won, barring some kind of utter retardation in the writing (which is exactly what we got in season 7 & 8). She controls the two most powerful armies in Essos, the most powerful army in Westeros, the 4th most powerful army in Westeros, and has access to fantasy WMDs. The invasion of the Others, while terrible, will be dealt with by a Targaryen who apparently has total telepathic control over 3 dragons, which is something that not even Aegon the Conqueror managed. Faegon/Aegon doesn't exist in the show. Stannis is dead. Varys is on her side. There is nothing stopping her, again, barring utterly retarded writing.

It's like he's laughing in our faces. I am of the mind that if he does not have at least a release date by the end of next year, I am giving up on TWOW. I have been waiting for half a decade, George. I'm getting sick and tired of this. You frequently talk about calling off going to conventions to work on TWOW, but you somehow can find time to post things like this and also help make short films.

A couple years ago he was releasing TWOW chapters on his blog not regularly but at least you knew he was making progress

I think his fat ass realized he has the same problem he did with AFFC and ADWD, he has so many characters and plotlines that are nowhere near resolution that he can't possibly wrap them up in two more books. He doesn't want to do the splitsies again and make it 8 books or 9 books or 10 books or whatever instead of 7, so he's thrown up his hands and retreated into the escapism of going to cons and working on TV and movie shit instead of sitting his fat ass down and doing the hard work of untying the Gordian knot he's created for himself

I do think we'll get a completed book series... after he's dead and they hire some hack fraud to take what he has got completed and his notes and write up 3 or 5 or whatever more books and it'll be trash. Kevin J. Anderson, check your e-mail in 2028!
