Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

EDIT: Finally caught up with the thread, and I have to say that this doesn't bode well at all. The guys who voted for this are probably going to save the day again on the other bills the D's want passed if the progs don't step up to the plate.

And I don't want to hear some copium-riddled bullshit about how this bill was different. After a certain amount, large increases don't really matter. If they were willing to vote on a $1.2T bill they'll be willing to vote on a $2.5T, $3.5T, etc bill.

Because I am coming up with nothing that can't be summarized as "Of course its money being spent, (toss in various expletives here)". It doesn't do anything politically.

It is stock standard pork-barrel spending, an absolute waste of money, an amazing increase to the deficit, for no political gain what so god damned ever.



As to the rest of your post, yes this bill was different.... because its stock standard pork-barrel bullshit. There is nothing in the bill anyone could pin the RINO's balls to the wall over. It's just... fluff. Horrifically expensive fluff with a happy name on it. Frankly, I'd be willing to bet on them deciding it's politically safe enough to vote for it, take their money, and then pretend that everything else is simply 'too much' because idiocy.

It's entirely unsustainable and is the RINOs trying to rape the economy to get theirs before it goes to shit. Just because I note it's a political void doesn't mean I like it. Fuck, I hate it for a ton of reasons. It just doesn't move the needle politically.

I can't speak for AZ but I sincerely doubt that would happen in Manchins case. People in WV have been deeply distrustful of the democrat party since Slick Willy turned what had been considered the party of the union into the one that signed NAFTA and helped outsource a lot of jobs. Whether the particulars of that and how much is Clinton's fault idk and won't spend time on but a lot of Dems who weren't known quantities on the state level before Clinton don't even get enough votes to matter. You can see the result of their attempts to run with some of the nuDems who are edgier and bitched for muh progress and how the blue dogs were slow by looking at the political trajectory of Richard Ojeda. He struck a chord with a lot of the younger prog types despite being a vet, and a lot of the rednecks in WV would at least listen to what he said because of that and pay him some form of respect. He started going further and further left though and now he's not even in politics iirc because people there outside of his small devoted clique just stopped giving a shit about anything he had to say. And that's someone they formerly respected on some level, however superficial it may seem to an outsider, rednecks tend to respect service members. Good luck preaching to them about how the real problem with America is that the far left progressives aren't being consistently aggressive enough, or convincing them any Democrat who isn't balls deep in coal and hasn't benefitted them personally in the past is worth trusting for more than a single election cycle. People there like Manchin because he likes guns and they feel safe with him, that he won't go too far left. They feel safe trusting that because they know he is invested in the same things they're invested in, namely, coal and industry. He has history there. The Dems try running someone who whines about blue dog Manchin, or any of the Republican candidates, voters will respond by questioning why they should take the word of someone who hates them on who to vote for and put up someone bright red.

Primarying them is on the table, but I am deeply skeptical of Gingrich not ensuring that it's just more RINOs. Its -Gingrich-.

Other than that... not really, no. There is nothing in it to nail their balls to the wall over, unlike the other infrastructure bills or the social spending bill, its stock standard pork-barrel spending, with the only difference being the astronomical pricetag.

Near me within a few weeks they built an electric car recharge station across from one of the supermarkets, and even before that, I found a few of them located at a parking lot in Khols, of all places.

That's why I posted this clip of this journo asking Biden to raise prices on gas until regular people can't afford it to "sav da worl."

Biden got pissed and had to say "n-no we aren't doing that, please stop" because revealing that that exchange was his entire goal would've have had people fedposting/demonstrating so hard it would make Jan 6 look like a birthday party in comparison. And January 6th was just a rowdy party of boomers shitting in Pelosi's desk.
