That makes me wonder. Who/what was the TRUE first VTuber. Guess that could be a hard question, it depends on how far you’re willing to stretch the term vtuber.

Don't know if anyone answered this, but as far as modern VTubers go (as we know them):

But who really cares about that non-entity? Let's talk about ones who actually matter.

Edit: There were some earlier ones who were considered Vloggers, but I'm going by the term 'VTuber' here.

Sana might not be the best singer ever, but that didn't stop Noel from getting 1.34 million subs so I am fine with this.
just tuned in now I'll give her credit at least for not being as tonedeaf and oblivious to rhythm as Noel, but even in Noel's case her original song showed that you can make even that work.

And as rough as Noels singing may be even her karaoke streams it ends up just being kind of endearing that she still gives it her all.

Watame and papa Pako hyping in the chat is also super cute

Marine announced in her stream that she's collaborating with ELSA by having their PC case in Marine theme with a CPU as well. (Their Website) Although this is only sold in Japan, I feel like this was worth reporting.

You can only play H-games on the Marine Computer.

let's see... 15ish pages since I last posted/checked the thread about things Vtubers, I wonder what's new:

Pippa did something that the farms and/or chans like/disliked and/or management reprimanded her? Check
Kiara hate/doomposting? Check. Bonus points if its somehow related to what's going on at the same time? Check
A poster has gone full spectrum? Check. Bonus points if they begin divulging TMI aka The Nolan Crush effect? Double check
Usual Niji post that is informative? Check. Did it go full tribalism? Nope, nice surprise!
BEEG?
BEEG

EDIT: kson trending on the cancer that is twitter because of her 1M milestone

Ah, another day on the farms, another day of throwing shit at each other while somehow having civil discussions about <insert topic>. Kinda reminds me of this

I'll take this any day over reddit or chans tho. Also, Day 2(?) of Korone on break. This must be what hell feels like

Kiara has some exceptional fans, but you can say this of any chuuba. Yes, even your favorite.

Here, have a real-life pro idol breaking down on camera because she can't travel to the fancy places her more famous peers do, or eat the fancy food they do, while coming across as a spoiled bratto (isn't)
Imagine being illiterate when there are only 26 letters in the alphabet. Oh wait, they have 5000+ backwards ass moonrunes that the average Japanese person doesn't even know half of. So fucking stupid.

Tenma had a drawing stream on Twitch yesterday, one of the things that stood out for me is her telling chat that she doesn't like or want to share details about her life. If you want the timestamp, I can find it. She'll share things like how she's doing and if she's drinking beer or whatever, but it's something I noticed that she rarely ever mentions anything outside the stream. It's a nice contrast.

Edit - 1:56:10 - "I just don't wish to talk to you about my life so I think it's different, I think." About the difference in not sharing information and lying.( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1200490671 )
On another recent twitch stream it came up that she speaks 5 languages and she seemed apprehensive to reveal what they are "to avoid doxing" because they were related to her non-streaming job. My new rrat is that she's secretive because she's an Agent 47 style assassin.

They're completely aware everyone knows who they were beforehand and are doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances. I kind of prefer it that way, because it means they're allowing themselves to talk about stuff of the past and how they genuinely felt rather than treat Ethyria as this weird clean slate.
Is that why you like Mori out of all HoloENs?

Nah, I view Mori more as an Artist whose music I greatly look forward to, rather than a member of Hololive. My interest watching any of them stream is pretty much dead in the water nowadays.

People might not even remember quite how fake Mori's speech and pitch used to be in her early streams but she's always been my #1. I do like that aspect of her, though. I think it's nice to acknowledge that the person exists outside of YouTube and it makes them inherently more interesting to listen to. Calli's zatsudans are, in my opinion, her best streaming content. A lot of people feel the same way about Subaru's little stories too.

I think what makes it so crucial for Millie and Enna is just HOW close they are and how long they've been best friends. Millie even said in the stream that she and Enna were wagies together in the same shitty retail store for a while until they started streaming. There's such a huge wealth of interesting tidbits, and a genuine friendship that transcends work colleague bonds, that worrying too much about holding all that in to avoid 'doxxing' themselves would be to the detriment of what enhances their content.

Don't know if anyone answered this, but as far as modern VTubers go (as we know them):
Kizuna ai coined the term, Mito from Nijisanji perfected the way to make content with gaming and adding other things because before they were more like a variety show streamers that what we have today

Now if you want to piss off people and get very technical, just say the first Vsinger was Hatsune Miku (thing that is factually true)
