Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

No I also I read some of the dungeons and dragons articles by that pedophile guy and thought they were kind of okay, like a poor man's version of cracked.com articles back when cracked.com was still sort of funny but not really, and I never signed up because charging money to use a forum is fucking retarded, and goons were already some of the worst people on the internet by then.

I remember them constantly barging into other cosy little forums and games like unruly mobs of spastics and shitting them up. My first introduction to them was about two dozen of them swarming into a relatively tiny forum I posted on and immediately forming an aggressive, disruptive, insular ready-made clique that nobody else could stand, and refusing to leave until we started randomly doxing them. They left really quick when that started because their lives were embarrassing.

Goons were terrible and unfunny and obnoxious even back when they claim SA was good. Any 'internet culture' they created just filled a vacuum that any number of other communities would have filled if they didn't exist. The people looking back at Something Awful like it was ever worth anything just don't seem to understand that they were never the only place on the internet where you could have fun and shitpost with random strangers, they were just the only place with such a weird sense of herd mentality and brand loyalty.
Thank you for summarizing this - since Lowtax rightfully shuffled his mortal coil, I've had to read endless insufferable posts all over the Internet from goons waxing poetic about how the halcyon days of SA shaped the comedic future of online entertainment. All goons should follow Rich on his journey immediately.

Note, many OG goons turned into the original SJWs.
Well when you spend all day viciously mobbing and harassing people for not fitting into your ingroup eventually you're going to realise you'll go a lot further if your ingroup is claiming to end social injustice than if it's just a pack of terminally online pedophiles fighting over which memes are better.

I still believe viciously mobbing and harassing people is better when it's just for fun, instead of being motivated by some retarded belief it's making the world a better place. Because it isn't. Ever. It's just fun to stomp on retards.

This is exceptionally true. The tribalism inherent in the latter is still very much present. How many SA moderators/famous persons have had their otherwise intolerable behavior excused because goons didn't believe the victims? SA makes a lot more sense when you realize that their dedication to progressive causes/fighting injustice ends where their comfort zone begins. It's a spice to make life exciting, not a foundation for their beliefs.

Well, after reading most of the pages here and not bothering with the site he created for obvious reasons, I'm kinda left a bit conflicted on Rich finally doing what I figured he would do far sooner. It doesn't take someone like @Dyn to presage what anyone who has been on a SASS iteration over the years to know. It's been a pretty wild ride, if you want my opinion.

1000 dollar chairs, GTR's, McMansions. All paid for by simpering sycophants who are mostly gone, and the remainder or his forum gravedance resolutely for internet clout that was roundly mocked initially. But this is nothing new for goonery.

The dude set up a total gravy train of morons. He was completely Madison Avenue style. Someone upthread mentioned national lampoon. He captured that sense and packaged it in internet form at the time when print media began to show cracks, a time when you could really do something like that. The censors and govt watchers hadn't descended on the internet as much, because the price of admission was still pretty high back then. So PC (or mac if you were a fag with funds) plus the modem, plus the sub cost, then the 10 bux.

He could be funny. Recently he wasn't, but he tried. I met him a very long time ago, and he seemed weird, but not a bad guy, no overtones or undercurrents, just an offbeat guy.

After spending years on SASS and it's clones, we all knew this was how it would end. When you stopped caring, the forums ran down. We've had a fun time shitting on you, and the last few years, you've given all of us our own vindication, even if some of us never wanted it, and others wanted to burn your nuts off with acid jets and cave your head in with volcanic bombs.

Also, never stick your dick or enfold one in crazy kids. The world is becoming weirder.

A far as his kids go, I barely have anything to say other than best hopes for them. Bad way to grow up.

Their TV Tropes threads were my introduction to SJW culture: how the R-word makes you literally Hitler, how you must attach a trigger-warning (remember someone called Bad Bromance?) to any icky words, and how cross-dressing is totally awesome.

That last post made me think some things.

Mainly, a lot of you retards in this thread repeatedly paid ten bucks to this loser who blew his brains out.

LMAO. You are such pathetic faggots. Did you give ten bucks, were you ten bucks cucks? LMAO. You should kill yourselves too!

You can gift the status to others. I never paid a cent to null and I still got it

And you will still forever be considered as, and treated like, a paycuck. Hope you're happy

Fun Fact: Lowtax is the first non fictional character featured in the music video.

"Ultimate showdown of Ultimate Destiny"

To die IRL. Characters that where dead before it came out don't count.

Jesus the actor who played Lo-pan is 92.

That guy got his start on SA, he and his sister were shitposting on there as kids (one of the few kids who got their parents to pay tenbux in the early 00's. There's some old threads where he gets in arguments on SA. I always wanted him to become a full-fledged lolcow, there was a lot of potential

I think Lowtax is a special case, considering he had like over two decades worth of treating people like shit, and that includes a whole lot of people who got unjustly banned at one point or another because Lowtax felt like it that day. And considering SA bans cost you money, it feels like getting robbed and not having a way to complain about it without getting mocked by his inexplicable simps.

So that's a personal incentive to hate the guy, and then you layer that on top him acting despicable towards his kids and exes, and the entire goon hivemind openly loathing the guy after he relinquished his power, and it's no wonder why people are coming out of the woodwork to dance on his grave.

Like, you're always gonna get a few gravedancing assholes with anyone's death, but you're not gonna see tons of people spitting on Spoony's corpse when he finally kills himself.
That twat banned me personally because I posted a picture of a nebula in the space thread, because it "was too big and broke the tables". but that was just an excuse to get rid of me. I've never forgiven him for that "terrible betrayal lol" to this day. (I really didn't give a that much of a fuck to be fair and never bothered to re-reg). That's why I jumped onto SASS, TNE, SOSE and here, because fuck SA. Also lol Lowtax is dead. (I'm not) haha.

I don't know, I feel like you have to actually be relevant to get that kind of reaction. Spoony hasn't done anything noteworthy in over five years. I feel like the reaction to his death will be a resounding, "Who? Oh yeah, that guy."

ResetEra has a pretty notorious black chick mod who LARPs as if she grew up in the hood but she actually grew up in a mostly white suburb. Also, she's a furry.
And "cough cough" Koala's March.

So now we have gotten to the part of the saga where all the bitches fight over the scraps of Lowtax's money:

Just need the appearance of a 4th Lowtax kid now.
Unless Alice proves how little her tranny porn means to her by joining KF and posting her tranny porn here for us to tastefully critique, I'm going to go ahead and assume it's very private and personal and she thought it meant a lot to Lowtax.

Was that related to the part of the site where they made fun of forums they thought were filled with losers? They used to try and raid those forums, but at least most of them didn't charge money to have an account. I'm not even sure anyone really cared when they tried to start something, but it was a long time ago so I don't remember much.
