Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Highly doubt Freakazoid would come back given that some of the VAs have either retired or died.

Cosgrove’s VA, Ed Asner died three months ago.
Tim Curry, Dr. Mystico’s voice retired due to Curry’s stroke back in 2014.
The voice actor of Professor Heiney, Ed Gilbert died two years after the show got canceled in 1999.
Jonathan Harris died in 2002 (Professor Jones).
Armando Guitierrez VA, Ricardo Montalbán died in 2009
Aron Kincaid died in 2011 (Killer Croc from BTAS and the Nerdator)
Stan Freberg died in 2015 (Mo-Ron)
Stephen Furst died in 2017 (Fanboy and Booster from the Buzz Lightyear star command cartoon)

Crap. I actually forgot that Ed died this year, along with a majority of the cast being out of the way too. It would be a bit difficult to bring back Freakazoid. Aside from the fact that he had to be cut from the reboot of Animaniacs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I saw the season 2 of the new Animaniacs it was pretty bad. I didn't know it came out until a few days ago. I think they hired they same people that did the audio mixing on the GTA: DE games. You can defiantly tell that Rob Paulsen and Maurice Lamarche recorded there lines over the phone because of Rona.

WOW. That has got to be one of, if not THE worst fourth-wall break I've ever seen in my entirety of watching visual fiction. And trust me, that's saying a lot.

Also, ripping off Duck Amuck? Really?! The writers should commit seppuku for even daring to think of the idea, as they cannot compete with Chuck Jones at his prime. Poor man's spinning in his grave right now, holy SHIT. *sigh*

It's because animators aren't content with just working on a project, they need to inject them self into the show itself.

Examples:

(Alright, the last one isn't so egregious and seems to be decent advice, but still)

That's not to say it automatically makes these shows bad, I just think it's telling about the people that make them. If you change Yakko with Sonichu and the artist with Chris chan it wouldn't feel out of place for a Sonichu issue.

I couldn't bring myself to watch any of the first season and I can't even bring myself to watch that clip of the second. The stiff, dumpy character design of that human character puts me right off. I'm looking at a static image and even from that it looks flash animated.

Then there's Rescue Rangers. I know, rationally, my childhood hasn't been raped and the original media is right there, but it's very hard to remember that.
