I can't wait for the Trump jokes despite him not being President for a year.

Funny thing is is that the Proud family were canonly Republicans in the original. I could see Oscar easily being a Trump voter.
Knowing modern Hollywood, they'll probably have them all go left. At best, they'll all just turn into RINOs.
Yes, because how dare black people have thoughts independent from the hive mind?! How dare they try to build a good life for their family in a nice suburb and take everything in stride instead of staying in the ghetto sucking off the government's teat and/or complaining about how America's the most RACIST and PROBLEMATIC country ever?! If you didn't vote for our Lord and Savior Joe Biden, you just ain't black, sweaty! What do you mean, we're actually being racist and aren't helping black people at all?!

Me at the beginning: OK, this actually doesn't look that bad. I have cautious optimism about this now -

AAAAAAAAAND it's gone. It's gone, it's absolutely gone, it's ruined. Unsalvageable.
This character design looks likes it came from one of the Vyond/Go!Animate artstyles, specifically this one below.

I dig the direction of where this is going. Like Tiny Toons(had fun memories of playing the Konami games). Although the question remains. When will Freakazoid come back?
Highly doubt Freakazoid would come back given that some of the VAs have either retired or died.

Cosgrove’s VA, Ed Asner died three months ago.
Tim Curry, Dr. Mystico’s voice retired due to Curry’s stroke back in 2014.
The voice actor of Professor Heiney, Ed Gilbert died two years after the show got canceled in 1999.
Jonathan Harris died in 2002 (Professor Jones).
Armando Guitierrez VA, Ricardo Montalbán died in 2009
Aron Kincaid died in 2011 (Killer Croc from BTAS and the Nerdator)
Stan Freberg died in 2015 (Mo-Ron)
Stephen Furst died in 2017 (Fanboy and Booster from the Buzz Lightyear star command cartoon)

The Owl House copers are back at it again.

OK, Rebecca. You wanna play this game? We'll play your game. Let's look at ANOTHER serialized show intended for an older audience on a network primarily focused on episodic comedies for 6-11 kids:
main_main.jpg

Avatar: The Last Airbender was the highest-rated animated television series in its demographic at its premiere;[36] an average of 3.1 million viewers watched each new episode.[36] It had 5.6 million viewers for its highest-rated episode and was a highly rated part of the Nicktoons lineup beyond its 6-to-11-year-old target demographic.[37][38] A one-hour special, The Secret of the Fire Nation, consisting of the episodes "The Serpent's Pass" and "The Drill", aired on September 15, 2006, and attracted 5.1 million viewers. According to the Nielsen Media Research, the special was the highest-rated cable-television program that week.[39] In 2007, Avatar: The Last Airbender was syndicated to more than 105 countries and was one of Nickelodeon's top-rated programs. The series ranked first on Nickelodeon in Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Colombia.[40]

The four-part series finale, "Sozin's Comet", had the series' highest ratings. Its first airing averaged 5.6 million viewers, 95 percent more than Nickelodeon had in mid-July 2007.[citation needed] During the week of July 14, it was the most-viewed program by the under-14 demographic.[41][42] The finale's popularity was reflected in online media; Rise of the Phoenix King, a Nick.com online game based on "Sozin's Comet", had almost 815,000 game plays in three days.
[43]
3.1 MILLION VIEWERS. EVERY. GODDAMN. EPISODE.
Again, let's take a look at The Owl House's ratings for comparison, shall we?

A tenth as much as The Last Airbender's average.

While we're already at TOH - what are you guys' impression of it actually? It's really har to find discussions about this show that isn't about LGTB representation..
i actually decided to watch the show, seemed interesting enough without an obnoxious art style. i can just memory hole the alphabet soup shit and enjoy what substance is there.
i wish that i was right; season 1 didn't go nuts on it and i believe that had something to do with the executives holding them back a bit, but season 2 just kept trying to shove into the audiences face the gay relationship between two children that it was really painful to watch for me.
like jesus christ disney, stop trying to get me interested in that pedobait of a subplot. i'm not bitin'.

FTFY. It's not Disney themselves. If it were, they wouldn't have cut it short and promoted it more. See above post. It's Dana Terrace herself (and the Twitterati whom she panders to) trying to push this shit.

The Owl House copers are back at it again.

To be fair, I can’t imagine Katara and Toph randomly having a lesbian like romance when they’re too busy trying to understand Aang and his air bending abilities :story:

You mentioning Toph reminded me of something - they actually made jokes about her blindness. That and they didn't let it define her character. No fucking way you could do that today without being decried as "ABLEIST REEEEEEEEEE"

When ATLA was famous around the time I grew up, I can somewhat remember how people my age thought Ty Lee was the girl they wanted to hang out with, while Toph was secretly the girl they wanted to be.

Meanwhile, Azula was the girl they wanted to go out with

Is Disney a premium cable channel in America? That could explain the absolutely colossal disparity between Avatar and Owl House's ratings (not to mention one being run during a period where streaming was barely a thing).

It used to be, but it hasn't been since 1997. Do keep in mind that cable ain't what it used to be.

Oh I'm well aware lol, I kept a close eye on CN's numbers back during my /co/ days thanks to Showbuzz. It's astonishing how basically everything on that channel went from a million per episode at least to some shows struggling to even get 500k. Of course this doesn't take into account that app of theirs.

If your my age, you miss the days when cable TV was still this new thing in the house and program selection was still small and odd at best. The Disney Channel used to be in the same their as Showtime and HBO.
