I found his brother's names through the electoral register. There's a couple of hits, but none of them seem to match the profile or show a family resemblance (I initally thought his brothers were an internationally successful fashion photographer who shoots for Vogue and a nuclear scientist respectively, which I wish was true because it would be funny for him to be the least successful brother).

Can't seem to find any matching socials or even a LinkedIn for them though. I had the impression that Ollie was the youngest but I'm not sure where I got that from - if he's the eldest, it would make sense for there not to be much on them as they might still be at uni, just starting out or whatever (surprisingly Ollie is only 28.). That being said, maybe they locked that shit down the moment their weird brother started bragging to them that he was YouTube famous.

I think it's because someone willingly dating a "trans woman" is certainly either a closeted gay person or an autogynophile himself. It's their way to "dip their toes" and see find themselves what the "trans identity" is really about. A man who is certain about his own heterosexuality and sexual identification would not come close, or even date a "trans woman" because they are not interested in biological males, and even less biological males filled with cross-sex hormones. So it wouldn't be surprising that those that do, are in search of "finding themselves" by getting close to the troons.

Yes, that's an oft repeated argument in the thread. Theoretically he should be more than able to get all the surgeries he could ever want anywhere in the whole fucking world - the USA, Thailand, Canada, Sweden, Germany, whatever. He should be able to get all his 'mones through private sources. He's doing this either performatively, to signal he's one of the ladsses, or to gain clout. It's probably the latter though, since he's a narcissist and can't survive without asspats and exposure.

But that would be because a cis person gets HRT for a physiological condition, whereas a trans person gets HRT because they want to transition (thus a psychiatric consult to ensure you understand what will happen and have informed consent, along with checking you're actually wanting to transition and don't just have something else going on). Also a cis woman can't just tell a doctor she wants HRT because she thinks she has early onset menopause, they still need to do blood tests etc to check.

In this sense it's like saying that anxious people have to contend with a segregated healthcare system because someone who doesn't get anxiety will be prescribed valium (for epilepsy) without seeing a psychiatrist whereas you can't just tell a GP "I'm anxious, give me valium" without any sort of consultation about whether or not you're actually anxious.

It's so weird to have already lived through:

80s - acceptance of pop stars and celebrities cross-dressing or being androgynous (Boy George, Annie Lennox), still regarded as their birth sex

90s - acceptance of regular people cross-dressing on a weekend or as a fetish (if some burly truck driver wants to wear heels and be called Stacey on a weekend, it's a bit salacious but nobody really cares), still regarded as their birth sex

00s - full time trannies wearily tolerated, mainly out of politeness (see Little Britain's "I'm a Lady" sketches), but not given access to women's spaces, still regarded as their birth sex

10s - sudden drive to redefine the term "woman", elimination of sex based rights, women-only prisons/bathrooms/sports/awards, demands to be regarded as whatever sex they want based on absolutely nothing (not even a psych evaluation), called a murderer of you disagree even slightly from this dogma.

I mean, fuck me I'm not that old, but that's a lot of change to live through already. I can only hope that the pendulum swings back equally fast.
