I'll agree that it makes Phil a gross person, but it's hard to ascribe pedo vibes to him when he's too immature to have any real sexuality. His purchase of a condo to impress the previous girl on his radar may have been out of a desire to hit that, but given what he was like after finally getting some, Phil clearly wasn't the horndog he seemed. Just extremely childish, ignorant, and stupid.
If he grooms anybody for anything, it's for cleaning up after him. Probably planned to do the same thing with the girl he bought a condo for.
I don't think that's remotely the case. I think Phil did once have a very strong sexual appetite and horndog vibes (if for no other reason than to cloak his shame for being a closeted gayboi), and I do think he was both lecherous and morally questionable with his dating choices. At the very least he disregarded societal norms/expectations and allowed "little Phil" to dictate who or what he went after.
Then reality struck. And by reality, I mean the gin. Years and years of alcohol abuse has rendered him not (solely) without a libido, but without a means to do anything about it. In short, his dick doesn't work anymore. In most cases, alcohol induced erectile dysfunction can go away after you stop drinking. That said, there are plenty of cases where the damage is permanent. In those cases, there are many "co-morbidities" in the perma-death of our little one-eyed friends. Tell me if any of these sound familiar: obesity, hypertension, diabetes, spinal injuries, chronic mood disorders such as depression, and even systemic rheumatic and endocrine disorders (like gout).
Why do you think Phil gets legit mad at "waifus", sex jokes, and dating missions? We know for a fact that Kat had no problem whatsoever cracking stupid sex jokes at video games, constantly. We also know that Kat "loved watching Phil" and was a fan since I believe 2014 or 2015. Some Assassin's Creed playthrough or some shit was when she started watching Phil. So, we're expected to believe a woman with an obvious bent toward childish sexual humor in her own streams, who LOVED watching Phil at the peak of his own childish sexual humor in his streams, suddenly became prudish and demanded that Phil stop? Given the animal, let's call that horseshit, because that's what it is. And yet it seems to be the prevailing "wisdom".
To me at least it makes a lot more sense that his dick doesn't work, he's angry about it, and fucking snaps at anyone who reminds him of anything that he would once comment on like the letch he wishes he could still be. It's also the reason in my opinion that he also reminds us about his "super healthy and totally normal regular sex life with his wife *thumbs at door* Kat" as often as he can shoehorn it into conversation without sounding like a fucking creep.
