This is speculation since we don't have much info, but I always saw Phil's parents (mostly his dad) would be the kind of guy to tell him "get good grades, go to college, and after you graduate you're set for life." Phil taking the "set for life" literally instead of "this is the foundation you build upon" got pissed when he had to answer phones for little money instead of immediately being handed the big office and high salary. Just dumb luck Youtube started gaining steam around the same time and handed him everything he felt he was entitled to.DSP just assumes anyone graduating is filthy rich. Sure it looks great on a resume and people love to talk about it but it does not guarantee wealth.
