@chiobu re:
Dems want Biden to start swinging at Republicans. Allies aren’t sure he can.
….
LOL this^ reminds me of the meme with the guy poking [redacted] with a stick and saying “c’mon, do something.”
All of these people inside and outside of DC who are really pushing Biden to get more assertive, get on the offense, be a leader, grab the reins and REALLY take charge are neglecting one pesky little detail…
he can’t. Biden is a demented, geriatric mushbrain who would normally be in assisted living if his wife were dead. He’s old, tired, and out of the game. No more tough battles for him (outside of his health, that is). Mentally, he’s just not there. His schedule is very light so that he can have his warm milk and be in his jammies by 7. He’s unable to speak to constituents and reporters off the cuff, which is the bare minimum of what’s expected for any public-facing position, let alone POTUS.
This is why articles like that^ and the people who are gunning to pump Biden up as some powerful colonel/kaiser/czar never fail to crack me up. They WANT him to be a take-charge guy, yet he lacks the physical and mental fortitude to even achieve that at this point. They now know that they made a grave strategical error getting behind Joe. The strings on the puppet that they thought would be good for 4 years are fraying 10 months in, and their behind-the-scenes panic is nothing short of delicious for me.
Imagine a broken-down car in the weeds behind your house that you kept telling yourself you’d repair. You put that off for so long, that now kudzu is starting to form. The body and gas tank are rusted away, while the interior is full of mold and standing water. All 4 tires are flat. The windows are cloudy with mildew. There’s a bee’s nest in the radiator and a family of raccoons in the trunk. Now picture someone slapping the hood and optimistically saying “Don’t fret! We still have some hope of getting this baby moving!” That’s pretty much the dynamic between the democrats who still think Joe has it and the reality of Joe’s current state.
