The biggest problem with that idea is that Taiwan doesn't even consider itself as independent. The PRC-ROC relations come from an unresolved civil war and both claim mainland+Taiwan as their territory. So it can be considered Chinese internal politics for a lot of countries and they choose who is China (hint: PRC is in the UN, ROC is not). Some countries like the US treat Taiwan as special while still maintaining PRC as official.

Within Taiwan there is growing independence sentiment but there has been no declared independence from ROC hence the Chinese calling Taiwan a "rogue province." I'm pretty sure China has declared at some point that they will invade Taiwan if they declare independence.

The ruling party (and I think Tsai-Ing Wen herself) have also said that Taiwan is "independent in all but name only". The current build up of aggression from Mainland, however, can be attributed to many things, and a complex situation. Suffice to say the Taiwan question will remain one of the WW3 trigger for the foreseeable future

That said, modern Chinese military have next to nothing in combat experience, even the Russians are more experienced than them. Any actual conflict would be bad for the chinks

Her growth should be slowing real soon, probably today or tomorrow. That said, HoloX still has a collab ban. Once its been lifted, they're bound to see some new growth again

Maybe I'm slightly sad that I don't get these references since I didn't know of Senzawa before, but it is also nice to be able to watch Gura without all the baggage/nostalgia glasses. Just enjoy her as she is now.

Yeah the only reason they send that type of crap is to get a rise out of the streamer and troll them. So she's basically just giving them what they want - acknowledgement and a reaction. Gura's hoodie already is such a great piece of merchandise, I wouldn't be surprised to one day see it in normal stores or see kids/girls wearing it who don't even know what hololive is. You could totally just call it shark or ocean-themed.

Got one of them for my kids, who was Gura for halloween. She still wears it to school now just for fun. I'm sure it was made by some shitty chinese company. I'd have gladly paid 5x as much if I could have gotten it officially (and hopefully the quality would be better).
