Exactly. Why the fuck not? The superhero capeshit fans get a superhero empire to root for that no longer has problematic elements, the "BASH THE FASH" people become happy that the Imperium is no longer a larping mechanism for those they deem fascist, and GW can market the Imperium as the good guys, with a straight face, without it being some kind of back-handed satire. Just have superhero marines being super and being heroes, wiping out both the alien and chaos threats, while also getting rid of the more "problematic" parts of the Imperium and having Belisarius Cawl advance the tech of the Imperium, possibly with Yvraine's help.

They might even finish that "human webway" project that the Emperor was working on before his dearly beloved Horus socked him in the face.

GW hasn't gotten my money since Dreadfleet (the only GW product I didn't give away or Ebay since my wife painted most of the ships and the game, frankly, does kick ass) , so any sort of experiment is okay by me, especially if the natsi LARP'ers sperg out about it.

I have

They probably will sperg about it, while the model collectors and tournament whales will keep buying, the normies will get into it once the "problematic" aspects of the Imperium get purged, and the SJWs and intelligentsia will cheer on GW for scoring one for the progressive team.

As for me, I'm more than happy to stick with this:

Hey, they have badass Dixie Space Marines who listen to rock and roll, shoot up drugs, and drink booze on the job. Why not?

Reminds me; you know what actually got me looking into the 40k rabbit hole way back in the long long ago? A kitbashed 2nd edition marines army called "The Sons of Elvis". It's exactly what it sounds like (with the exception of the Chaplain, which for some reason was modeled after Little Richard). I bought a copy of 1st Edition Space Hulk that very convention.

Exactly. People fell in love with the OG 40K because it was campy humor, not because of "MUH GRIMDARK ATMOSPHERE". The Starcraft marines are more in sync with the original Rogue Trader Space Marines than the Adeptus Astartes of the 3rd Edition-7th Edition.

Rate me late if this has already been shared, it's several months old now, but this was linked to on another article that came up in recommendations on my phone's browser - D&D as a safe space for "queer" players. I'm convinced D&D is well and truly lost, and wouldn't be surprised if others were also looking for alternatives to it as the genderspecials have taken it over completely. And having played so much 5e I can say I'm well and truly sick of it, but it's all that ever seems to be going on in terms of TTRPGs, both in my online and real life communities, as it's simple enough that anyone can play, so no wonder it went mainstream and the woke crowd took over.

Unlike video games and certain sections of the science fiction genre, D&D seems to have taken the same route as comics and opened the gates willingly to the SJWs. Probably because unlike sci-fi blockbusters and video games, D&D isn't for normies, but a small core of nerds who still play tabletop games. So there isn't really much pushback when SJW nerds push for inclusivity in the D&D space. At this point, they're probably just happy more people are coming in, queer or not.

The religious right were such nutbags in the 80s and early 90s that the progressive left uses them as a bogeyman to this day, even though they're currently about as toothless as a septuagenarian frog that's lost its dentures.

It does make sense, though. The progressive left is as much as nutbag cult as the religious right ever was. And cults hate competition.
As a group grows in number the number of numbers in said group will increase as well by the simple factor of math.

I.e. if we're optimistic and say that 1% of all humans are insane, then a group that numbered 100 will have 1 nutbag within it. If that group increases to 1,000, it now has 10 nutbags.

Of course everyone believes that their nutbags are the exception while that other group over there? Their nutbags are the rule.

Well I got news for you humans, it's the rule for all of you.

You're right that people don't need to rely on GW to enjoy Warhamer, but the reaction to End Times is understandable when you consider the loss of minis.. With basically every human faction squatted and replaced with the Sigmarines, you have to proxy like hell to even attempt at having an Empire Army, and that really hurts the game when designing minis has become half of the experience for the average Warhammer player.
The whole grognard strategy struggles when you consider that you have to try to compete against the current edition and will only become more and more obsolete as time goes on and new players are playing (Insert Tabletop Game here) nth edition while (insert grognard-preferred edition) becomes positively ancient. New players will likely start with new editions, and it's hard to get someone to start playing older editions when you consider the jank and balance differences compared to the new editions alongside lack of official support.

I stopped wargaming years ago because there were too many interesting games and not enough people willing to play them, so I guess I could be exhibit A for what you say.

But still, at the time when I stopped paying attention, it looked like every mini gamer with a copy of Zbrush was selling STLs of fantasy landsknechts and aztec dinosaur men.
Also, I was kind of an extreme example. I was looking at wildly different and obscure games. When we're talking about competing editions and obsolescence of a single, highly popular game, it sort of proves my point. That's GW consoomer churn mentality talking. If you have the minis, the prefered edition, a bunch of similarly disgruntled buddies, and somewhere to push your little plastic army mans, who gives a shit about the next edition with all-new chutes and ladders mechanics, and the dopes who fall for it?

He's already GW's answer to Rey; a hero who has everything in his power to change things for the better. So once the traditionalists and the back-stabbing ass-kissers in the Imperium turn against him and launch a civil war with him, Guilliman will use it as an excuse to purge the Imperium of every backward, retrograde, traditionalist influence, and GW will use it to purge any "problematic" elements in the Imperium and have Guilliman be Mr. Rational, arranging an alliance with aliens like the Eldar, while having Belisarius Cawl innovate more new tech for the military. Guilliman will then go off eradicating the more fundamentalist parts of the Imperium, to create what amounts to an enlightened despot state that the normies can love without being called fascists. Instead of Space Nazis, they'll have Frederick the Great in space, now with more tolerance for those filthy xenos.

Warhammer 40K: Age of Guillimar.

Its because you can go on kickstarter, create "Faggots and Queers 2nd Edition" as a 'system agnostic' setting for 5e. Show some tumble art samples of brown-shaded genderblobs with various pink/purple hipster tassle haircuts. Throw in buzz word, talk about inclusion nad BIPOCs, offer a nigger and a redskin a small cut to use their pictures for the creators, And in two weeks you'll have 2 million in funding.

That's what I meant before when I said that fans of the older 40K editions and units can just play that shit with friends and let the normies wallow in the new editions. Problem is, as many people here pointed out, finding people who will play the older editions with you is the hard part, unless you have friends that do.

Warhammer 40K: Age of Guillimar.
That's practically it. I even remember seeing someone playing the tabletop using Guilliman to crush a C'tan shard in combat. For all intents and purposes, that was the 40K version of Rey deflecting Palpatine's lighting back at him with two lightsabers when we just saw the latter fry a whole fleet with said lightning.

It's the same thing as peddling drugs for gangs; they make so much money, they can't resist doing it. Except with SJW/LGBT D&D, not only is it legal, but you will be lauded by society for it. Hence why they would go full-throttle with it, not only to get all that funding, but to also gain the support and acclaim of the media and SJWs everywhere.

Call it too optimistic, but RPG's have one advantage; you and your group don't have to abide. There is nothing stopping you using what system you want, making whatever table or etiquette rules you want from Woke to "Lol Fags and Troons not welcome".

As I said before, you can always play whatever edition of whatever game you feel is best. So long as you have friends who will join you, of course. Which isn't always the case, especially since most newbies will abide by the rules that the official game owners have.

Hardly anyone near me seems to be running anything that isn't 5e D&D - LGS always hosts D&D nights twice a week where most of the groups gather, and from what I've seen it's plagued with wokeness (which is to be expected when the majority of people there are university students), perhaps it could be worth looking online for a group to play some other system but nothing really compares to the feeling of being physically there in the company of other human beings.

Speaking of pozzd bullshit, just how far did White Wolf fall off down the slope?
They were wallowing in the muck from day 1 IMO. At least one of their writers trooned out to avoid scrutiny over his sexual history, and one of their sourcebooks contained a bestiality origin story courtesy of Phil "Satyros" Brucato.

Be the change you wish to see in the world. Find a system you like and run it, whether its capeshit, horror, fantasy, military, or sci-fi. You’ll eventually get people looking to join, and then you filter out the trannies, SJWs, edgelords, sex pests, and alright dudes with clashing personalities. That last one might seem benign, because they’re alright dudes, but those kinds of arguments can bomb a campaign after you get invested in the group, as opposed to the trannies and edgelords destroying the group before.

Setting up a system like that is the easy part. It's finding people who will play with you in person that's the challenge. But I suppose even among the normies who play D&D or Warhammer the normal way, you can find some people disappointed with the way things are running, and you can approach them and ask them if they'd want to play a different mode of play.

Ya gotta pound the pavement to find that group and it'll take some filtering. Lord knows, the group I have and treasure now didn't come about overnight. We've had to vett, expel, and kick out many souls who brought the table down. Once you find that group, hold on tight and treasure em like a lover, cuz you might never find another that good again.

Wait, which sourcebook was this?

Changing Breeds. One canon explanation for how a CB is born is humans fucking animals. Fans of WW always joked about the book and shapeshifters generally because of how they seemed designed to attract animal-fuckers and otherkin.
If it's the book I'm thinking (New World, right?), I must have missed that part. Now I'm morbidly curious.
