But sounds like that was probably some bullshit anyway, if she was awake enough to notice him making a loud noise while in another room. In fact, it would seem most likely that she would hear that while downstairs, right below whatever room he was sleeping in.
He's desperate to not look like a friendless loser. I mean, everyone he interacts with IRL (and this does include Kaht) only does so because they are paid to do so.
Her tone was very different in her streams. She's a very awkward, boring, paranoid woman. In her streams, she'd often look around like people were watching. But, she was perfectly acceptable in playing the games, being pleasant enough and not saying much.
Rather than saying openly "I'd like to have friends, but it's hard because of X, Y, Z" he has to cope and say that he doesn't need friends and his life is perfect (but remember that next week he'll be crying poor and saying how hard his life is).

He hates showing vulnerability or weakness. I get if stuff is personal, but there is nothing more fake than denying what everyone else knows to be true....Phil is a friendless loser because of his own actions.

I would not be surprised if phil had a mild version of sleep apnea. In the vacation videos with Leanna he weighed in at 230, which is obese for a sedentary man.
Imagine if Phil worked out and had friends....he might actually be able to get over his addiction. Maybe that's too much optimism lol.
If he's drinking like his Total Wine bill seems to indicate he absolute has sleep apnea, combined with his lifestyle and body composition

I'd go so far as to say he has full blown sleep apnea. Probably snores like a fucking chainsaw.
I seem to remember him saying they don't even sleep on the same floor of the snort fort. His excuse was that "she likes the fireplace." It got me thinking right before Leanner left this was the main issue they were having. They could never sleep together at the same time because Leanner had an actual job and Phil snored so loud she couldn't get any sleep.
Can't remember which stream but one kicked off with her squeezing a stress ball so hard it exploded. Phil of course ignored the red flag his soulmate needed a stress ball just to appear on stream and laughed off the larger red flag of gripping the thing so hard it broke. I'm not into armchair diagnosis but you don't need to be to see she clearly didn't want to be anywhere near that stream for whatever reason.
I hope "Philzenegger" makes an appearance!
