Bitchy tranny jannies bitching about sexist language:

RPGnets attachment to the Tau is double weird in that the Greater Good is explicitly Tau domination of the galaxy, and murdering or brainwashing anyone who disagrees. They are pretty much as bad as the Imperium, except that they just don't advertise all the atrocities they commit.

It's made pretty clear they enslaved the entire Vespid species as cannon fodder.
It’s because they’re not explicitly racist and don’t operate on the Dark Forest hypothesis like the imperium does.

Also something something it’s not fascism when we do it something something.

Ironically I'm pretty sure RPGnet specifically Cessna or MacLarren coined the term pixel-bitching.
Holy shit, I think you're right. I don't see any references to it anywhere else before 2011 or so... but RPG.net has a thread from way back in 2006! (Explain) Pixel-Bitching

> Be sure to note the term did not originate in computer gaming. It was invented right here, on RPGNet, by me and Kuma.

The historical illiteracy here really bugs me because you can tell he's just applying current year politics to history. Nazism was an entirely urban thing in Germany for those unaware and the rural Germans opposed it through the entire war, with farmers and small villages actively helping the allies during the push into Germany.

One o the more interesting truths a lot of people miss about the rise of nazi germany is they got in through a series of shady backroom deals and never had popular majority support. Which isn't something easy to counter or anticipate. Their is no equivelant in current politics, our leaders our failures by their own terms.

Agreed. One of the biggest things I've noticed over the last few years is we've spent too much time focusing on what Nazi Germany did and not enough time on how Nazi Germany came to be. Hell, I never even heard of the Weimar republic in school.

That’s exactly why I’m very troubled by all this. Pop-culture jokes aside, Nazism didn’t form out of nowhere because Germans are intrinsically evil demons. That sort of shit can happen anywhere.

There was a great German film called “The Wave” about an anarchist rebel high school teacher who conducts a social experiment with his students. He essentially shows how something like Nazism can form anywhere with the right social setup. Even the black kids got into it. Things get real out of hand. Much better film than American History X, frankly.

They used to have you watch "The Wave" in school.

I remember the big reveal, with the teacher talking about they'd be able to see "The Leader" at an assembly.

The reveal led to shocked silence in both the movie and in the classroom.

They need to show that movie in school more often.

The original thread from that one is mind-boggling. The whole first page (and then sporadically for the remainder of the thread) the wokies are trying to explain their lunacy in hopes of converting the author. Until the past two weeks he blissfully unaware of such topics. Safety and consent, X-cards, Sensitivity Reader....

> it's a lot harder to fix stuff like this once it's already out in the world hurting people

I thought the only way you could hurt someone with a book, was by hitting them with it?

That thread is so cult-like. Game author doesn't know what a sensitivity reader is or why they would need one, so everyone immediately runs in to explain that he absolutely must have one, everyone is using them these days, times have changed, you can't expect players to just talk things out. Your table isn't important, what's important is the hypothetical gaming group full of LGBTQIAA+ colored bodies having a meltdown because you inadvertently queer-coded your villain.

"Sensitivity readers" are definite Ark B people.

Oh jeez, the Patrick O'Duffy ban is even more fun.

He confused Eoris Essence with Degenesis. He just reamed the poor South American author for all the rape in his game by mistake. There is no rape in Eoris, thats how I missed it.
It’s doubly hilarious when you realize that this means that he’s either lashing out based on a similar title and something that he heard second hand or that he bought the rape game.
