Phil absolutely knows this, but he's too stupid to think of a way to ACTUALLY fix it. The paypigs are holding out on him, and not even to make him squeal, because he's clearly doing way more of that than ever before. He needs to do away with his not-so-behind-the-scenes arrangement, but he won't because he's dumb, greedy, and most importantly of all, a coward. He can't handle the idea of not only revealing what it's like when OIC isn't covering him, but of finding out if it will even work to get the regular paypigs tipping again.
And they indeed may not, because Phil has done more than just discourage them with that fixing the game bullshit that goes back over a year, and was active during the vest streak. He completely disregards their concerns over their own safety, does nothing about them getting doxed (even though according to what Anony told me, he commnicates via email with his informants about the doxing done by Nigel, so he's definitely aware of how big a problem it is for him), and chooses to keep OIC around for sake of appearances even though having the tips jar somewhat filled isn't preferable to the look he gets from letting such a liability stick around posing a danger to the regular paypigs.
On top of that, his grift is fucking him, because he doesn't seem to realize that when your marks think you just generally need money for stuff, they're not going to feel as bad as you want them to about the fact that you don't bring in $200 a day. They're going to think that, despite your assertions, you're better off with them giving you their money in the same amount via some other method than if they just didn't give at all. And he's so entitled that he doesn't bother to consider that maybe PayPal is just not an alternative to superchats to a lot of paypigs no matter how against his desires it goes. He's a complete idiot for not setting his addiction needs aside in the interest of still getting that money SOMEHOW.
And this is to say nothing of whatever effect the breaking of pignosis is having on the situation, which, I'm not hopeful on that obviously, but you never know. This lack of enjoying the pigroach squirming in his seat over a lack of tips isn't something you could expect out of glue-sniffing morons who live a sadder existence than Phil does.
