I kind of like the new version of the ending over the old one. It has wholesome energy, even if you don't agree with the political statements being made in these comics, it's a straightforward situation where the boy learns about Stephanie's opinions and perspective, and is implied to be appreciated for it. I feel weird about the version where the tran-stastic lessons end with them dating. Maybe I'm missing like a ton of pages to this, but it seems to come out of nowhere. I'm guessing that when the original came out, it wasn't as suspicious, but with the shit that's come out about Labelle this past year...

It's not really Billy's comics are obstensible for children and he fancies himself an educator.
Of course he just wants access to children but it's in line with how he's trying to position himself

I might be wrong but i thought that the third gender only happened in cultures that do no recognized homosexuality at all. Iran recognizes trannies, they'll kill a man for being gay but are more willing to tolerate a fag if he pretends he is a mentally ill retard that thinks he is a woman, and they are explicit about believing is a mental illness. I think theres something similar with the indian trannies. As trannies they are perceived more like sick men that are subject to pity and charitable condescension were if they were out as gay they'd bust be seen as filthy sinners who should be stoned.
