This is low and I hope the tribe fucking roasts them.
It probably is just obvious fraud like you say.

But I can’t shake the possibility that Penny is in fact working with someone from that community. The question would be why - the way they’re going about it makes zero sense on any genuine charitable grounds, and we can already see this is far from genuine.
So I come back to my money laundering theory. Supposing the Pine Ridge contact has a need to conceal income from some dubious source. Then it might make sense to spread it out across third party fundraisers that are not officially arranged by themselves - providing one layer of obfuscation and deniability.
The hard cash will get funnelled, untraceably, to the reservation and in return the tranch gets some more consumer trash from Amazon.

Here’s one indicator as to whether the above theory holds any water: the tranch’s fundraising ability has absolutely turned to shit over the last year. Their latest effort literally earned $40 or so iirc. So they’re desperate.
If they suddenly start magically drawing in thousands for some completely new and un-related cause, which why would any of their existing cashed-out Troon followership give a shit about - I’d say that’s a strong signal that something very fishy is going on.

@Pocket Dragoon
Can't quote you but the lack of any official notice on the Injun website all but confirms to me that this is a scam or some form of financial fuckery where they are going to massively skim off the top. Then again, this could be an intrapersonal donation drive and not directed between the entire Tribe, but a few select heckin valid Tranninjuns and their immediate family.
@Pocket Dragoon

Not s word about it on their Facebook page either.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That amazon wishlist is incredible. Here are a few bits that stood out to me:
Toys for Kevin. Well I've no idea why anyone relying on charity donations would want a $300 Lego set. And as for the stuffies. And who else would want a stuffed dinosaur.
Yeah it's fucking confirmed

So not only is there no evidence that the Injuns are either involved or aware of such a donation drive, the Amazon wishlist is full of shit that the tranchers would buy. Yeah Injuns need $300 lego sets and stuffed dinosaurs? and the adult diapers? The literal only explanation besides fetish gear for for Kevin is that there may or may not be an Incontinent Elder-Injun (but once again we have seen no proof of any Injuns being involved) and I'm pretty sure Adult Diapers are probably covered under Medicare/Medicaid

Even if it was, they shouldn't have created it in the name of the tribe as a whole, while tacking the personal aspect on at the end to avoid the proceeds being added to the tribal slush-fund. So when people ask where exactly the money went, they'll try to play it off as legit to recipients "who wish to stay anonymous".

And the "for mutual-benefit" part is highly questionable.

It will still most likely be a scam especially with "anonymous recipients"

My very first thought was the Tranch paying natives to take their shitty alpaca wool, in return for fucking blankets that they can resell.

Because why else would they need to do it personally, except to bring something back & avoid a financial paper trail for the transaction.

It’s hardly going to be something legitimately industrious like that though. More likely to be running drugs down to Denver. Ties in with my money laundering theory too 8)

You're new to e-beggars, right? "Mutual aid" is a common term with them which always boils down to "FUCK YOU PAY ME". There's no nothing mutual about it and there's no aid rendered - not even "lend me a bit of money now and I'll pay you back" or "donate to my fundraiser and I'm going to donate to yours next time". These people aren't looking to get help with unforeseen expenses or medical emergencies, they want to make a living out of habitual e-begging.

A few months ago Kindness and Bonnie made an Amazon wishlist that also included an otoscope and fingertip pulse oximeter. I guess I can understand the oximeters, but what is the actual purpose of the otoscopes? Is it to check for ear infections/continue their LARP of being off-the-grid ANTIFA medics? Or is this part of some weird fetish that I've been lucky enough not to know about? Maybe Bonnie is involved with making this wishlist as well. Either way, why would they need 50 of them?

Also, does anybody have an idea of how this whole charity/donation thing would work in terms of taxes? Would that come into play with all this? It seems odd that the GoFraudMe is set up in Penny's name, so are they collecting the money under the Tranch's name, then they are donating it to the injuns? The whole thing is so convoluted and weird.

If someone on the tribe wanted to get some kind of grift going, they could do it on a whole different scale.

Or why not have tribal members get personal go fund mes for big ticket items like cars, septic systems, or appliances?

The poverty there is not just about lack of money. Buying toys is not going to help anything in the long term.

To wit, per Wikipedia, "Its people receive $80 million annually in federal monies, such as Social Security and veterans benefits; they spend most of this money largely in stores located off the reservation in Nebraska border towns, creating no benefit for the tribe. As the journalist Stephanie Woodward noted, little money changes hands within the reservation."

That's correct. They did provide the service for a while then went all "k lol no thx" and left the thing to another provider IIRC in a neighbouring county.
It was hilarious, using rusty old horse trailers to transport glass bottles and aluminum cans.

That’s very telling, since you’d think stuff like supplementary trash pickup and recycling would be a guaranteed money maker (maybe not enough to support them fully, but still something) in a place like that. But it’s unglamorous and repetitive and does not suit interesting photo opportunities, so it couldn’t hold their interest.

IIRC they were angling for some kind of state or federal grant. Very self-sufficient off-the-grid fuck the police ancom of them, innit?

We know that. But does the average twitter user with no prior knowledge & a sore conscience, after being directed to the GFM by an acquaintance or algorithm; especially those with a weak spot for underdog/Injun sob stories?

Edit: now fucking Dances with Wolves is showing up in my suggestions for Amazon and Netflix.

At first? No, definitely not. He or she's going to know the second time.

I am seriously hoping that Phil's scam involving the natives spectacularly backfires. They think they're safe because they're promoting a noble cause and throwing white people under the bus, but (at least in my experience) native americans are extremely racist of white people, and it's only going to be a matter of time before they turn on the tranch. Whether that is through Phil's scamming, incompetence, or whatever, these Natives are going to be brutal when they feel cheated by white men. And that is how they are going to see them, as white men, because Natives don't give a shit about troon shit, especially when it's a white man.
