Mega Rad Gun Thread

This all reminds me of the internet historian video about guns where the British guy mentions going to a rental range in SE Asia and getting offered to blowup a cow with a grenade for 200 dollars American but he turned it down cause he thought he'd feel bad and also cause he didn't have 200 dollars American.

Man I wish that were me.

My dream would be to get a bag of bread and a USAS 12 with a full drum mag at a beach over run by seagulls.

Or a 240L with an Elcan and a full drum on the 18th green of a golf course over run with Canadian geese.

Just a 20 rd pack of hollows. I feel like I remember seein' Speers for like $4 more on optics planet or gunbroker recently...

I dunno, I prefer SIG Vcrown and I've seen that for 24 a box for 20. I think 29 then yeah but above 30.... I dunno just my opinion
For what I understand, hollowpoint quality is Federal < Hornady < Speers, but I also refuse to buy Hornady cuz they vax mandated. idk about sig, I never see their ammo ANYWHERE.

It does feel like under Biden, pro 2A groups are more active compared to the Trump era, where many gun control laws were being passed in many states.

I prefer SIG Vcrown
Would you mind elaborating why? As @Xx_Retard Faggot 1488_xX said (or at least what I believe he is trying to say, that is that #1 is Federal, #2 is Hornady and that #3 is Speer) HST and Gold Dots are the "meta" and are in use with the numerous alphabet agencies and law enforcement groups, and I personally know of no organizations that use VCrowns
Also @Xx_Retard Faggot 1488_xX
What is your basis for claiming that Hornady is #2 in the ranking? I was under the impression that HST and Gold Dot were essentially tied and that everything else was "substandard" as like with VCrown's I personally cannot think of any agency or organization that loads Hornady defensive as an issued ammunition.

Sorry, to be clear, I was saying #1 was Speer and #2 was Hornady. My take is from what I've seen from various law enforcement. Cops seem to all want speer, and the cops I know vouche for hornady crit defense/crit duty, depending on the use. I like Federal ammo in general, I just don't see as much praise for their hollow points as compared to Speers and Hornady.

saw 2 boxes of Federal HST 9mm for $32 each. Did I make a mistake on putting it back on the shelf?
Honestly, that's about normal now with covid price raising. I'm a Speer fag but I do have some HSTs lying around and used them before. They're not terrible.

I've honestly never heard of VCrowns before.

Geissele said they would not enforce? or did they do something else?
I am local to them and tbh I'm not massively impressed with the stuff they make, it's good don't get me wrong but I just don't see the need/cost for it.

They take good care of their workers and theres a Wawa next to them that I oft hit and chat with employees anytime we cross paths.

Put 200 rounds through my makarov today just to really see how the cerakoate holds up and it's still wonderful and I wanted to just shoot the mak because I'm weird and enjoy it. Also since my dad swung by the range I took my MAS 36 since he's never shot it and fell in love because it's weird and the engineer in him loved it.

It's been a few months since I mentioned but, I've been wanting to do a 11 inch upper build for my LaRue HD gun (already got can and sbr stamp) I'm having a hard time finding what I want/meta/best. So I think I'm going to save the hassle and just buy a upper and be done with it vs buying parts and making myself. I guess age is taking a hold of my lazy ass?

I'm also now on a hunt for a good 375H&H gun I want something old, but I really just want to add that round to my collection/hoard since I've been really thinking about hunting trips again and thats the "cat" round. Even though I doubt I'll ever cat hunt let alone need another big bore I just want one, and I have total gun tism, so if I want it I'll own it.

Yeah, I don't currently own any of their stuff, But I do like their maritime boltcatch, I will probably go with their (or ALG) triggers, and hopofheil has convinced me to heavily consider the ALG handguard for a AR pistol build.

Geisselle triggers will change your fucking life.

Lots of people who have never used any of their products will go, "but their price isn't justifiable", and that's just it. You've never used any of it, you don't know.

I agree that their handguards are overpriced as fuck for what they are, but I've used them too and you can still make the argument that they're worth it.

I don't want to poor shame anyone, but yeah, almost $300 for a trigger is a LOT of money, especially if you don't shoot a lot. It just depends on how much you want it. I have no regrets on any of my purchases with them.

I didn't mean to bash them and I know you've mentioned you use your gun for duty so I think it's safe to assume, you're A: more qualified, B: more skilled than myself,

I've used their stuff and in past few months built a lower using their entry trigger (LPK with there stuff was like 109 on sale great deal imho) it's nice but I'm fine with my LaRue trigger when it comes to quality and personally my Colt trigger on my HBAR clone is a lot better than I expect.

Yeah that handguards and all I don't see what makes them over X brand esp at the price, again I'm sure made well. I respect them being local, and as said take care of employees, that's always good to see for me. I'm just too much a caveman to see how good their stuff is and I'm probably on the much higher end of cave people with ARs so when I see people who can't 4" group at 50 yards running around with 300 dollar triggers in their magpul hoody, I tend to want to reach for my flask. Again not fault of the product but really I think people over buy (in all hobbies not just shooting )
