The Slaton Sisters / Amy Slaton & Tammy Slaton - The 1000 Pound Sisters

I think it’s a simple case of Amy literally being Tammy’s current carer, so they turn to her and Michael when something concerns her. I don’t think pointing out that Amy is also an enabler is a bad thing either, yes she needs to focus on her baby but from the POV that Tammy is so fat she’s going to die recognition of that is necessary. But yeah overall they should hold Tammy more responsible as they too enabled her at one point I’m sure.

Mainly I think they always ask Amy first is that Michael just does shit without complaining, if he never says no why not ask him since most of them just end up arguing with Tammy. This episode just confirmed there is nothing redeeming about Tammy. Everyone knows she’s ungrateful but she surpasses her own unpleasantness every episode, that shit about the electric wheelchair was shameful. When she said “Is it really for me, or is it for them?”… like so fucking what if it’s for them? Why should they damage their backs or even strain a muscle pushing your chair around with the 630lbs of fat you have dripping from you? She’s so defensive about the most bizarre shit, she’s never tries to see it from anyone else’s perspective or even considers anyone but herself. I don’t think she was ever going to join in on the vacation, it’s too outside her comfort zone: where she barely moves and doesn't have to face how difficult it is for her to even walk one step. Crazy to think that season one, where she was endlessly criticised, was actually Tammy at her best.

I just hope, but don’t for one second believe, that Amy doesn’t put most of the weight back on. She looks like she’s gained when they were at dinner in the recent ep. There’s really no excuse why she hasn’t kept up the progress anymore.

Oh I fully expect for Amy to gain almost if not all of the weight back in the next year or two. With her being preggo again, she's going to use it as an excuse to have "cheat days," and she's going to eventually undo her surgery. Her views on food are setting her up for failure, and in my opinion, I think she would be better off if her family busted her balls over her eating habits instead of over Tammy's. Unlike Tammy, I think that Amy would benefit from people holding her accountable for her own weight.

I understand putting some responsibility on Amy as she's Tammy's "current caretaker," but given how downright verbally abusive and miserable Tammy is, it's hard to blame Amy for any sort of enabling. As I said before, I'd probably cave like Amy and just let Tammy kill herself with food if I was treated like that 24/7.

When someone acts like Tammy does at age 35, it's not a "phase," it's just how she is as a human being. This is not at all a behavior that she's going to grow out of, and she appears to not even want to grow out of it.

What month is this episode filmed in? I know Amy recently announced shes pregnant and it's easy to pack it on.

I don’t know about yins, but if I were so fat that I couldn’t walk and had to be wheeled around, I’d be mortified. I’d do whatever I could to avoid my obesity making others’ lives more difficult. So this just makes me wonder why Tammy resents any relief her family might get from dealing with her.

Is it because she’s afraid they’ll realize how much happier they are not being tethered to her? Is it because they ignored her when she was being molested as a kid and her obesity is her way of being impossible to ignore? Is she just a cunt?

I wish TLC had a Pillow Talk series with legit shrinks watching this crew.

From memory I think a recent video or Instagram comment from Tammy said they finished filming this series about 6 months ago...so at least three months before Amy got herself knocked upagain. Amy will be as successful post bypass surgery as Amanda...you look at Amanda and you'd never guess the loud mouth had ever had gastric bypass surgery. Not one of the siblings can talk about anyone else's diet. The ONLY reason Chris is losing weight right now is he has just come of the liquid/puree part of his post op diet. Pretty much everyone post their first WLS will lose weight over the first 12 months... It's called the"honeymoon period" for a reason. Abuse that time when your metabolism is resetting though and weight gain will very soon follow. All the siblings that have had surgery have achieved is to buy themselves a bit more time...so far there isn't a single WLS success story amongst them

I don't think she should have any more kids, she will eventually be totally blind and then what?
Blind people have been successfully raising children since sliced bread, what are you on about?

So I'm watching the new episode and holy shit, just let her fat ass sleep in the van. Instead they get her a hotel and baby her. Their life is going to be so much better when she dies. They all go running to try and convince her and she thrives off it. She always has some excuse for her crap behavior and saying she bends over backwards. Yeah I'm MATI rn.

Agreed entirely! In my initial post about the episode, I used the word, "vexing," and I totally stand by it. I rolled my eyes so hard when the family agreed to put her in a hotel! I would have absolutely left that wretched bitch in the van. That would have made for some better and more hilarious TV, too!

Tammy almost seems to get off on treating people like shit. It seriously comes across as her traveling with them just to ruin it for everyone.

She really seems to get her willies from people crawling to please her, she is so embarrassing to be around and she acts like shes the one who make sacrifices and everyone else is mean. Like damn, just let her starve in a room for a bit it'll be good for her. She is actually offended they don't want to manually push her, that really is something else.

I kind of find Amanda hot ngl

More photos of Steven Slaton and one of Maw. Maw comments about Steven's friend Tony helping him better himself. I believe the bottom photo is of Chef Slaton.

The entire family are Hazzard County prize hogs. The grocery bill when they all living together at Slaton Manor must have been astronomical.
Is that Chris and Brittany? Chris sure has changed a lot.

I was hoping they were going to leave Tammy and make her sleep in the van.

I could understand some of the things she was complaining about, but instead of controlling her emotions and explaining things in a coherent manner, she gets immediately combative and starts cussing people out. She has a bad attitude about everything anyway, so it's not hard to understand why the rest of the family would be out of patience at that point. But they still bend over backwards for her in the end, getting her a hotel room and ride home.

She’s determined to stay helpless despite claiming to be an independent woman.
Tammy is trying to spite them for being less retarded than her. I can't wrap my head around this level of exceptionalism.

Also can't believe they have door dash in what ever bum fuck place morganville kentucky is. Amy will stay pregs as long as possible because it's a good excuse to not have to lose weight; like it isn't socially acceptable to call out a pregnant woman's weight out. She'll probably shit out another 4. There's a chick on teen mom that does this (catelynn, 4 kids and not 30 yet).

Other than laziness, I agree that Tammy not wanting to use the electric wheelchair was also about trying to keep her family at her beck and call.

We know that Tammy had some sort of mental breakdown during the shooting of season 3. She definitely knows that her family are trying to give her some independence bc they want to move on with their lives. I wonder if her breakdown was some sort of manipulation to get her family to back down and fall back in line with her demands.

I believe Tam Tam when she said she never wanted to go on the vacation in the first place. It was supposed to be a present for her, but no one consulted her about how she would feel about it. They all just went and made plans to suit themselves and told her not to worry about it, just leave everything to them. It didn't work and they should have known that was coming. If they had given her the electric wheelchair to tool around close to home, she would have liked it I bet. But dragging her corpulent mass on a 12 hour road trip guaranteed that she would not be up for getting out and about... especially at a theme park where there wasn't a single thing she could do except be on display to strangers.

I have no doubt that Tammy didn’t want to go on that vacation for many reasons. Some of them valid and some of them not. Long car drive = pain. She couldn’t enjoy the amusement park and probably some of the other activities that were planned. She also couldn’t get away with eating 10,000 calories in that cabin everyday like she wants.

I disagree about the wheelchair. I think she would have thrown a fit about it regardless of where she was. Even if she enjoyed using it one time at home for an outing (which I doubt), she would have a temper tantrum if they suggested she use it all the time. The last thing Tammy wants is any kind of independence despite what she says.

Tammy is awful, but there was literally nothing about this trip that would ever have been enjoyable for someone in her situation, and if anyone in her family had thought about it for a second, they would have realized that. She wouldn’t have fit into the clothes at the photography studio. She wouldn’t have fit onto any of the rides. If all she could do was sit around on the sidelines, her presence was pointless. The trip wasn’t for her, and I don’t blame her for not wanting to go. She was doing the exact same thing in the hotel room that she would have been doing had she been with her family, only she was dry and not being stared at.

About the motorized chair, she was just being a cunt. Of course nobody wants to wheel you around if they don’t have to! You weigh 700 pounds!
