There's something about the way Chris talks at people that's so wrong. It goes beyond just the stilted and awkward choice of words, how he always can't not tl;dr, the semicolon overuse, and the autistic Capitalizing for Emphasis.

Without the proper motivation (trolling), even if Chris would go back into comics, the stories would be boring. Chris has no storytelling chops and the easiest story for him to tell during the Classic era was "the trolls are wrecking my Love Quest - I'll make them into my villains." Now that Chris doesn't let the trolls get to him, he just draws ponies as cards or on the back of soda labels.

Chris did get and F in high school English class, and he did get into more fights with his college English professor rather than learning how to master writing. This is why I don't believe Chris reads those books while he's in jail. If he did, despite the letters being crazy, they still would've had proper grammar. Poor parenting made Chris think he's better than most people, that's why he's 'better' at engaging people from paper or a tweet, he doesn't fear that they would go confront him. Now a face to face debate? Chris would go Hedgehog defense mode or run away. Let's say if Chris wanted to write a professional letter as a goal to receive something (like the Sonic sweepstakes), there's no way someone reading that letter could take Chris seriously.

Cole was born in 1964 when Barb was 22. 22 is a healthy age to have a kid while older births like Chris are associated with autism. Cole described his stepfather Jerry as abusive and they would leave Cole alone in their apartment where he would play with Jerry's gun. He left home at 16.

He probably wouldn't have had much exposure to video games, Cole had already left when Bob bought the Commodore 64. Cartoons were mostly limited to Saturday mornings back then, and Cole seems mature enough to not be interested in early Nickelodeon. In 2018 Chris sold Cole's comic book collection which was apparently quite extensive. That was probably some form of escape from his abusive parents.

As far as building toys like Lego, I haven't heard of any being mentioned in Cole's possession aside from a band stand Chris made for him in 1998. Cole could conceivably have had Erector or Meccano sets growing up. If Bob and Barb had met earlier, Bob might have bought these things for Cole due to his own interest in engineering, but Jerry was apparently a magician.

Now if Chris had been born in 1964 and Cole in 1982, there's a good chance Cole would be the autistic one.
