Kid's today don't care or keep interested. There's too much media. My young nephew is one of two people I know in real life who liked TLJ and didn't even bother to see TROS. It was already off his radar as something he cared about. Despite being into Fortnight.

It ultimately is one of the many decisions that killed the sequels. It is also where I can cut RJ some slack. He was writing a sequel to a film that wasn't made, that had to reception or reaction. Based off script drafts for a film that was being re-written while it was being filmed. A script he was to have finished before the previous film was finished amd to start filming a few weeks after it premiered.

It is no wonder he wrote a film that was just its own shitty thing. Taking elements and doing whatever with no regard and not fitting.

It was not a situation where anyone could have delivered a proper sequel. He just went extra shit because he decided to shit all over the franchise and fans.

Ultimate failure was no creative head for the trilogy.

It's very inconsistent. Bo-Katan initially gained ownership of the Darksaber because Sabine Wren gave it to her in Rebels.

But The Mandalorian can't just give it back to her now for... reasons?

The reason is so she can kick his ass to take it since Dave is one of the shittiest fanfic writers I've ever seen.

On that situation Sabine didn't win the saber in combat and instead stole it, so she didn't have proper ownership rights under Mandalorian succession law. It's a bit schtewpid, but the circumstances are different assuming that Gideon won the sword through combat which would sound about right given Bo's track record.

Yeah my understanding is the way she got it wasn't legit and after all the shit the mando's have been though, it would be good luck to get it back the proper way.

Then what's the problem that's making Gideon cackle like Bo's trapped in the ultimate lose-lose situation?

My point is more that winning it via combat is made out as an awkward or tragic situation. Like it's the 'Villain puts character in position where they have to sacrifice something or do something terrible to achieve their goal and gloats about it' sorta deal. Does she think it's so overwhelmingly awkward to fight the dude she's known for about a couple days that she can't decide if it's worth it?

Someone recently made a good point about Book of Booba Fatt that really sums up why it doesn't work. Kennedyfilm put everything that they were supposed to put in the failed Boba Fett movie into The Mandalorian. Mando was the Boba Fett show people actually wanted. Giving Boba a spinoff show after the fact is redundant and now it's a waste of time because it's not true to the character. I assume people liked the Boba Fett because he was mysterious and cold, AKA a self centered bounty hunter. I don't know who the goofy clown played by Temuera Morrison in the show is supposed to be.

Boba would’ve been fine as the “team asshole” in the Mandalorian, helps that they wrote “Punished Boba” perfectly in that show, he even had good chemistry with Mando. Helps that he was based.

“Come on, we don’t need them.”

Paraphrasing but I liked seeing someone, anyone tell off Bo-Katan.

It seemed like he had a code of honor of sorts but in the classical My Word is My Bond way. He didn't bother giving Fortuna warning before blasting his ass, which showed he was still ruthless.

What the hell happened between production of Mando and Boba?
