It's unfair to come back and review the game now that it's somewhat more finished and most of the bugs and shitty animations have been fixed. People were rightfully hard on the game at launch because it was blatantly unfinished. It'd be one thing if he was reviewing the game off a disc with zero patches and updates. But, I can tell he's not going to do that.
Even if it had had all that fine at launch, it couldn't have fixed that fuck awful storyline. On a side note, I've noticed a slight trend of trying to rehab Andromedas image lately, it's quite odd.

This is why G4 was a success but could only be a success for a short period of time. Video games were as popular as ever but there wasn't really any media to consume around them besides magazines. Then youtube and the internet obseleted G4 just like they did and currently are for every traditional media org. Revived G4 was never going to work because people didn't just looooooove the G4 brand or that the shows and hosts were particularly incredible, they loved that they were getting content of a kind they couldn't get anywhere else. That's no longer true.
It might not have had the volume of following that it needs to survive as a cable channel, but its following was very dedicated. When I first found out about it ( around when san andreas launched on PS2) I had it on for 24 hours a day, it was everything I wanted. But that says it all. I was kind of an inside/introverted gamer that didn't socialize much. So I loved it, but it wasnt for everyone.
This is it exactly. it is 110% a product of its time. Why use a stagnant T.V channel that you cant control compared to curating your feed to exactly what you want.
100% right. I'm in my early 30's and a good chunk of the people back in the early-mid 2000's on the G4 forums were usually 2-7 years older than me at the time. I found out from a friend that one guy we use to chat and play games with regularly on there has several kids now and doesn't even play videogames anymore. He use to go to the LA E3 conventions all the time since he was an assistant manager for Gamestop in the 2000s while in high school and college.
The people I really feel bad for are the ones who are totally innocent in all of this but are now associated with this toxic cunt.
I think someone with vision might have been able to cash in on that nostalgia while making a relevant show that new people could still watch.

Because the only way any company does anything is if they can bank on nostalgia. Only problem is, every company thinks every fan is so braindead that they'll automatically buy into whatever they're selling. Even if its something that completely desecrates the original product. Now there are definitely consoomer brains out there that will do that but they are not the largest portion of a given audience by any stretch and this G4 revival is not a mobile game that needs to hook 1 whale to succeed. It's a network that needs viewers and it's already injected a lethal dose of poison into it's own veins.
