Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Probably because the people writing the curriculum weren't intelligent enough to think about the actual natives that lived in California. New York covers the natives who actually lived in the state but that's only because the Iroquois Confederacy was one of the most notable Indian polities that ever really existed.

The fact you think they actually gave a damn about literacy and not keeping both blacks and any uppity poor whites from voting is hilarious. The funny thing about MLK's proto-commydom is he was sincere about it, and pushed for greater cooperation between blacks and poor whites, seeing similar struggles for equality and economic advancement. Go look up how MLK talked about how when poor whites struggled to eat, those above him had him eat Jim Crow. Its almost like the white, Democrat elites were banking on racial tension to distract from economic issues. Now where does that sound familiar...?

What I said was that Rufo was trying to misrepresent the In Lak Ech Affirmation as being an actual prayer. He says that this is intended to fulfill some sort of role in "the displacement of the Christian god" and that it's "almost certainly" a violation of the 1st Amendment's Establishment Clause, which among other things bans public schools from leading their students in prayer. I don't agree with this and think he's trying to distort the meaning of the Affirmation.

The Affirmation isn't a prayer. It's a bastardization of a poem written in the 1970s into hip-hop format which would have guaranteed to make any student who heard it cringe. As part of the bastardization, some Aztec gods were added and social justice and revolution were inserted as positive themes in there. Not too surprising when you consider where the In Lak Ech Affirmation originated from in the first place: a program in Tuscon's schools where 90% of the students who joined were Mexican-Americans.

Rufo's phrasing of it as a prayer to violent Aztec gods in his article is just plain wrong and it's a distortion of what it was placed in the curriculum for.
