Many narc parents, specially mothers, are like this, sadly. And I've seen it. They can't allow their kids to have a moment for themselves, they run to them to be part of the moment themselves. And of course, their kids' achievements are their own achievements because, if you think about it, it's true that the parents invest on their kids to be successful: money, time, etc. The difference is that most parents accept this is something we do for their sake and don't think much about it, while narcissist parents do see them as an investment that needs to prove that the investment was worth it. This is how Jeanette sees Jazz: an investment that went wrong.

It always skeeved me out to hear Exulansic self-ID as detrans while admitting she never took medical steps to transition. That’s desisting, not detransitioning. The distinction matters because thinking your way out of a gender box and dealing with irreversible physical changes for the rest of your life are two fucking different things. Any reasonable, compassionate person with a foot in detrans/desister communities should respect that and refrain from implying possession of a burden they don’t have. Any GC should recognize the importance of clear language and strive to protect it. But Exulansic had to claim the bolder, more colorful and tragic term, as she claims all manner of unusual experiences when they give her arguments more force. I remember vividly — there was a video a while ago where she was talking about white people, and she said “we” as if she were one of them. It startled me, because isn’t she supposed to be Indian? To be fair, most Indians are more white than not, and many pass as white 100%, but they usually don’t group themselves as white when talking about racism like Exulansic did. Just… hmm. Sketch.

Honestly, I’m not convinced that Exulansic is even a desister. Is there evidence beyond her word on it? I’m not sure what that’s worth. I’ve listened to almoat all of her videos and never heard her describe her trans phase with the kind of specificity that would give it an undeniable ring of truth. Not that her story seems untrue at a glance — apparently she likes to collect identities and diagnoses; a trans phase would be typical — but I have to wonder because it’s stupid easy to claim desistance for kicks. It’s all in the mind, after all. Who can disprove that you had gender feelings once upon a time offline?

I still enjoy her videos, but she’s a lot. And her CAIS takes are nonsensical.

Anyone with the capacity to cherrypick and recite specific grade school test scores like this obviously didn’t excel enough in grade school to achieve admission to Harvard by normal means. Kids who score high across the board don’t bother to keep tabs on every win. It’s a baseline expectation, like the blue sky and the seasons.

I watched the Capturing the Friedman "documentary" that was link earlier in the thread, it was one of the most infuriating things I have ever watched in my entire life. I searching the case just now and it doesn't even have a wikipedia page dedicated to it. At some point in the documentary the mother of these monsters describes her husbands foray into sexually abusing his brother when he himself was eight years old and describes the rape that ensued as "perfectly normal" for that age. Then reading the excerpts of Jazz's autobiography several pages back where in details his own sexual abuse at the hands of his mother without any kind of introspection that it might have been really fucking weird for him to have seen all the vaginas of his household and why a teacher might find it so disturbing that a first grader was making graphic drawings of them in class. In both instances the maker of the Friedman documentary, and the makers of I am Jazz try to frame these fucking (((deviants))) in a sympathetic light. Only a fucking psychopath with a mutually invested interest of harming children would ever view these bits of media and think it's a resounding defense.

I also want to point out that, even if we all were to accept this post from jazz at face value, he is saying:

1. doing well at all the things he was forced to do anyway (standardized testing, homework, etc) is an accomplishment
2. he "accomplished" so much because he is inherently smarter than other people

It all smacks of protesting too much. If people doubt he was actually qualified to get into Harvard, all he has to do is a) do well at Harvard, and b) graduate. Even a) only means 'don't fail out', it's not like he has to publish his grades and it's literally illegal for anyone there to disclose them. All he has to do is ignore the criticism and quietly do the thing... and it is widely reputed to be harder to get into an Ivy than to graduate out of it. Well, of course. Kids at 3-4yo are only beginning to notice between boys and girls and at around 4-5 are starting to notice their genitalia and discover that girls and boys have different parts between their legs. There didn't even need to be actual physical molestation for it to be a kind of sexual abuse IMO. We can see on the show how little Jeanette respects the children's boundaries and how she imposes sexual things on them, like showing them her boudoir photos, talking to them about her sex life and their possible future sex lives or talking about it all right in front of them.

There's a lot of times when you see Jeanette with her friends(?) and they act like a hen party or like the Sex and the City characters, gossiping and joking about very explicit sexual topics. That's annoying to be around if it's in public or around people who don't want to be involved in that conversation, but it's fine in itself. The problem is she talks to her children exactly the same way, and I think she has done since they were little. She treats the children like they're her drinking buddies there to share tales of weird sexual escapades and reassure her that she's "still got it". I don't know if she groped any of the kids but just the way she talks to them is enough to fuck them up.
