Ignoring Shonen Jump/Shueishas handling of this manga called Ayakashi Triangle, refusing to publish chapters cause of how one chapter showed a certain character even though it showed her in almost the same way far before.View attachment 2935401
Not even surprised he's one of THOSE types
Who would you rather take advice on piracy from, massively (and massive) successful billionaire Gabe Newell, or some weeb with delusions of grandeur?View attachment 2935401

I gotta wonder, did he really quit, or was he bullied out?A couple weeks old, but I found a tweet thread wherein another one of those guys on ANN's Twitter social circle finds out Theron quit.

Now the fun starts when a certain someone mentions when Theron left:

Brainchild129: Defended Gabbo's BL-critical feature from fujoshits crying homo/transphobia
Also Brainchild129: Seemingly agrees Theron is homophobic...when the only basis for that claim is him saying he doesn't care for BL
OH here's the real good part, Lynzee herself comes in too:

He said this when he left:I gotta wonder, did he really quit, or was he bullied out?
In either case, I hope the guy finds better work/friends.

ANN does not care for Internet apps showing censored and mishandling translations from new and old anime titles, yet they really like to show how much they really care for piracy.Who would you rather take advice on piracy from, massively (and massive) successful billionaire Gabe Newell, or some weeb with delusions of grandeur?
I'm leaning towards bullying then.He said this when he left:

It really just brings the question of why he stayed
BTW, he's a high school teacher so it's not like he lost everything by quitting ANN. He's writing anime reviews on his own blog, albeit one no one is reading.
Oh I was about to post that one instead of taking to your friend's and family about coping and moving one with the death of your friend instead he startsforming parosotical relationships with vtubers.Today's odd article: Jean-Karlo explains how he filled the void of Zac Bertschy's death by simping for a 18+ Vtuber
Just like anywhere else they are respected and hated based on personal interactions. I watched some episodes and it is ok, I’ll probably enjoy it more than most based on my experiences.Caitlin (the one who actually called it copaganda, unlike the rest who just cried about how boring it was. Of course if it would be one it was going to be Caitlin) gives the show a mention in her review.

Are cops even seen as negatively in Japan? If not this just reminds me of when Zac shat on the airsoft girls hobby anime because of AMERICAN gun politics
You miscalculated the ticket, ¥15,000 is roughly around $150.The show wasn't anything to get upset about. It just started off slow. There were a few jokes and the main character even mentions how her dad hated the cops for ruining their trip by giving him a speeding ticket. It'll take a few episodes to find its footing, I'm sure. Are speeding tickets over there really around $1,500 ? No wonder people get pissed. I'm surprised they didn't pull some dumb shit like Mercedez did with Aquatope and call it a "queer coded" show since apparently women can't be platonic friends. Although Rebecca Silverman thought it was yuri, much to her dismay. Even Richard Eisenbeis has to make it political and mention "racial profiling" since he's a white dude in Japan. Oh, you poor oppressed gaijin. Funny you mention Chiaki, I found some dirt on that troon. Tomoaki Hirai is his actual name (he still uses it as on his linkedin profile and it's still his facebook URL despite going by "Chiyaki" now) and he went to College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, CA and graduated in 2010. It seems that Hirai has a kink for translating trap manga and is some sort of furry. A three-headed catgirl? His main twitter profile is private in order to save us the weird gay furry shit that constantly gets retweeted, I'm sure. Don't worry, there's still anime commentary and ugly selfies avaiable on a separate anime shitposting account: https://twitter.com/AnimatedEmpress/

That's fine if that's your experience, I'm not going to say your take is wrong but you had more tolerance for these people than a lot did. I think most people bailed on them way before the Vic blow-up and the non-screeching reviewers were kicked out of the site.
Everyone's mileage varies, but Zac was definitely banning a lot of people back then, you just never heard from them again. I also don't think Zac was ever a real anime fan. As Beef pointed out, he was an Evangelion fan who wanted to be a movie critic. Most aspects of anime that weren't artsy fartsy like Eva annoyed him, so it's absurd he ever had any power in a supposed fan space like that. It would be like running a Star Wars website when you hate Star Wars for not being more like 2001: A Space Odyssey.
He was even more annoying when you realized his life story reads like one of those former mad fat kids who gets power and let's it go to his head in some kind of psychological revenge when he realizes he can now push others around and be the bully like figure everyone despises instead of the other way around.
Part of it is the same complex that US male comic book fans have imo where they yearn for their "medium" to be taken seriously by the mainstream, critics, academia and other nonsense parties to the point it's suffocating and suddenly super hero outfits have to be "realistic," etc. when it was just goofy fun beforehand. It all goes back to extreme insecurity.
Also the old guard are extremely biased because they are snobs from America who didn't actually watch a lot of anime back in the day because they thought the only anime was what they could get on VHS at Block Buster. They didn't grow up in Asia where the kids who grew up watching old anime were not watching Akira and art-house stuff on TV but were watching anime for kids and otaku that did not take itself as seriously. The idea that old anime was vastly different in tone apart from maybe certain genres of OVAs is an incredible myth created by these outsiders who are talking out of their ass for the most part.
Guess there may be a direct correlation between anime/narcissism and delayed social skills or development, or something after all.
This is why I sympathize with Hideaki Anno these days. These were the deluded morons who thought anime fandom was the Neverland where they could never grow up. Otaku culture is much different than the States, but he saw, he knew, he got depressed, he started Neon Genesis Evangelion, and he helped depict Shinji masturbate to one of his team members. While the worst of it has Japan with manchildren secluded in their rooms neeting and escaping the world by their series' obsessions and the egotism of fandom grand standing, the States has deluded consuum hipster know nothing know it alls thinking they made anime by buying merchandise and watching the shows "with taste". In the end, both kinds of dipshits aren't exactly constructive and striving members of society, let alone well adjusted people, as aforementioned.Yeah, that is what's ultimately so sad.
Like hey, when magical battle high school anime started flooding in, I got annoyed at how much of it there was, but I went, oh well, I'll just focus on what I like.
These guys: let's mock and ridicule everyone who likes it until no one does!
And looked how well that worked for them huh?
I would feel bad for them.... except for the fact that, all people, yes, even me, have fucking problems and share life's challenges and frustrations. And as a lifelong anime fan with such problems, I could laugh my ass off until the cows came home in the face of their self pitying and dysphoric projective bitterness. That's their excuse? That's like, Dylan Klebold and Matthew Harris levels of "TEAR MY LIFE INTO PIECES, I AM A TOTAL FUCKING WASTE OF RESOURCES" self pity. It's the kind of well hid bitterness I know I'm gonna see Jewthulhu and that other fuck nobody on chat become an hero over like Zac one day (ps. I ain't afraid of making enemies, fuck you too, thanks for ruining my thanksgiving assfuckers)To an extent I feel legitimately bad for them. Let's be honest, these people probably weren't just unpopular in high school they also had little to no friends to share their interests with because of how niche it was. After finally finding communities that liked the same stuff they did, they quickly found out that the specific titles they liked was considered niche even among them.
As a result they basically became bitter loners who can't relate to other people rarely if at all. This is probably why they instinctively didn't like Vic aside from his personal beliefs. Vic is a man who legitimately shows empathy and kindness to people which fans who have emailed him personally can attest. But these people are so bitter that they can't stop being bitter, even when someone is showing them actual empathy, they reject it automatically.
(Thank you!)Can these mental illness patients just fuck off to watch dumb Marvel movies and leave anime alone already? Good god. If g-rated girly anime triggers you, anime isn't for you, fuck face.
*quietly eats steak in the background*
Oh, hi everyone! I'm just lurking about here and there. It's nice to know that this dumpster fire excuse of an anime news site is fucking up even without me, and that the wheels of justice are turning nicely.
It's also nice to have a life that isn't centered around feeling like a powerless pampered cocksucker whose only stimulus of control over their lives is by controlling another nation's hobby and sequential artform by a news source by shitty opinions and blabbermouthing. It's almost like what everyone's been talking about ANN is common sense!
Btw, dealing with real life is nice. Glad to know the Farms are doing well in my offline sabbatical. Keep on truckin' Kiwis!
And it seems some people want to go back to that.Back before the pervasive presence of the Internet, if you wanted to get anime shit, you had to share it with friends, so you needed some friends even if they were pretty much anime nerds. Usenet was okay for talking about nerd subjects like that, but early Internet didn't really have the bandwidth to transmit quality video. So what little there was was low resolution rips of VHS tapes that would generally take a ridiculous amount of time to download and look like shit if you even managed to find it on some dodgy ftp server.
