Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I have to say I was a bit pleasantly surprised that Boba actually took down Cad Bane by himself. When Bane was about to kill him telling him this is why you shouldn't rely on anyone but yourself I was sure it was going to lead to some incredibly hackneyed moment of Ming na Wen or the cringe mods or even Mando saving him at the last moment to prove the power of friendship and fully cuckolding Boba Fett forever. Everything else about that last fight was totally retarded with the Scorpeneks (nice obscure little EU memberberry there at least Filoni) missing every shot they took, being completely unable to shoot through some packed mud, that whole rancor sequence with them just dragging on and on. Was Robert Rodriguez always this awful at directing action scenes? I've only ever seen Spy Kids by him so it's not like this is some jarring disconnect from that.
Rodriguez has always been over rated as a director. He used to be a solid writer though, key words being used to. He has become exponentially worse as time as gone on though.

I can't tell if its due to laziness or him getting his dick sucked for sub-par direction, probably some mixture of the two. He discovered early on all he had to do was make awful kids movies to rake in millions and that has permanently stunted his growth as a director/writer ever since.

He was over rated as both. What he has is a Japanese Writer's ability to think of a scene that is stupidly over the top and then keep pushing it until it is good. When he's in his own world with effectively zero continuity (Mariachi/Desperado, Spy Kids, whatever the fuck Grindhouse was) he can quickly reconfigure the world and characters to support whatever ridiculous shit he's cooking up. And has Tarantino on speed dial when he's stuck.

Put him in any sort of a box, and his shit quickly falls apart as he's not able to introduce enough spectacle to distract from his flaws.

Yeah, the weakest part of Alita: Battle Angel was Rodriguez's directing and I think that's why the movie didn't take off. The man just doesn't have a good eye for CGI.

The copium being inhaled by fans is fucking amazing. "There's no way our lord and saviours could possible write something bad, Disney must have put a gun to their heads and forced them to write out something shit. It's the only explanation that makes sense."
Are people actually saying this?

I haven't popped by the Star Wars Subreddit yet.

Reminder to everyone sucking Filoni's dick.

He made TCW
FTFY

He was okay until they gave him money.

“As far as my sources go, I think this disjointed and incoherent episode proves that they were spot on, that Disney was editing and reshooting this mess up to the end. It proves that Chapters 5 and 6 were The Mandalorian, not Book of Boba Fett. WDWPro told me that Han would appear, Harrison Ford was even listed on the IMDB page, and I think even Drunk 3PO said the same, but it appears among the many edits they deleted the scene with Han and Chewie. I don’t know maybe they knew this episode was a total dog and they wanted to save Han and Chewie for an episode that wasn’t a failure. I’ll be trying to figure it out, but I’m convinced they edited him out. I have people digging into it, but yeah… Disney has to PROVE that they‘re serious about Star Wars, they have to put QUALITY above all else, before I’ll watch more. I’ll still cover it for those of you who care, and I’ve done my best to be positive, but this is simply not acceptable to me. Guess we’ll see if they can salvage things. I certainly hope so.”

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm glad I didn't bother watching this shit.

Think about it: What did The Book of Boba Fett add to Star Wars? What did we learn about the universe that we didn't know already? Absolutely nothing. How did it justify it's existence? It didn't. It's pure filler created solely because Kennedyfilm needed content for Disney+ and there aren't any movies coming out.

The only meaningful thing it did was bridge the gap between Mandalorian Season 2 and Season 3 which is still apparently supposed to be coming out this year. I have a feeling after Mando S3 comes out most people will forget that this even happened. Also it made it slightly more obvious that Filoni sucks and he and Favreau aren't the saviors of the franchise the fans thought they were going to be. The fans are beyond saving, they don't deserve good Star Wars content at this point. They will get more shit like Booba Fatt and they're going to like it no matter what, so who cares?

In the end, it all leads to the sequel trilogy, so fuck it.

The first poster for the Kenobi show just dropped, along with the release date

Even if it's nice to see these actors reprising their roles, the show is most likely going to be pointless, badly paced and full of fanservice, so yeah... I'm not hyped at all for this.
Obi-Wan is being directed by Deborah Chow, a woman who's biggest credit before being on the Disney+ Amateur Hour was six episodes of CW's Reign (think: Game of Thrones for teen girls). It also stars Kumail Nanjiani, a walking advertisement against steroid abuse.

I can already see it now
  1. First Trailer Drops
  2. Full of memberberries and fanbaiting, promising something better than what we're actually going to get
  3. Add prequel memes for good measure
  4. Star Wars fans can't stop cumming their pants and consooming the product
  5. Fans rejoice and believe the franchise is saved
  6. Unreasonable levels of hype for no apparent reason
  7. Show comes out
  8. Barely above mediocre if not outright bad
  9. Fans claim Star Wars is saved
  10. Obi Wan is worthless and an unbearable faggot
  11. New diverse human characters do everything better than him
  12. Retcons the OT and PT
  13. People point out how bad the show is
  14. Fans say "NOOO just wait for the next episode then it'll get good/retcon the sequels"
  15. Repeat until the end of the series
  16. Last episode is nothing but fanservice that ties into the sequel trilogy
  17. The fanboys get proven wrong like the dumbasses they are....again
  18. Everybody forgets this show happened when Mando S3 trailer comes out
  19. Cycle repeats

The showrunner for this one worked on Mando and isn't Robert Rodriguez, so it's already looking up.

Don't worry, Doomcock will be back to sucking Dave Furloni's hairy cock in due time.

The way BOBF went we'll also suddenly get even more forced young Mando and Baby Yeed appearances that make no damn sense mid-series to 'save' the show. Might as well just make the whole thing some kind of backdoor Mando prequel at this point seeing as how that's the only gold Disney has actually managed to strike in all the time they've had Star Wars.
