Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

You know what? Screw it. They are the ones who decided that lawlessness and murdering the economy are okay, as long as it serves their political goals (which Krugman DARVOs and accuses the Right of doing at the end of that article).

We didn't write the rules of engagement, the Left did. The Right is merely adopting them.

I want these people broke and in prison, and I think it's funny.
I'm just trying to wrap my mind around comparing the hold up to insurance claims there were tons of news stories about being short.
When I told people I wasn't getting the vax, people asked me if I was afraid of dying from the coof. I replied with "I have made my peace with THE LORD. If it's my time to go then it's my time. I am not afraid". Most people gave me this look of incredulity. Except for Muslims, orthodox Jews and religious Christians.

Those who are not spiritual fear death and thus, fear life. Living in fear is not living.
I've learned it best not to argue with someone when they say it's in gods hands when they're a firm beliver
There's a reason why a defendant in a civil case isn't ordered to perform the task agreed upon in a contract and pays remuneration instead - there are an infinite number of ways one can sabotage work they're coerced into doing.
If you start fucking with the tow truck drivers who already don't want to do it the chance of fat more saying fuck you and fuck it go up exponentially

@Random Internet Person
Bold of you to assume that they won’t try to play by 2020 rules. And then there’s HR1.
They barely got away with 2020 after a year long mega propaganda campaign built off of major astroturfed riots and the perfect storm of covid. They can't wholesale make up an election, it's way to obvious and would require way too much coordination.

This round they have 0 ammunition against the right and the optics on the left are the worst they've been in my lifetime. If they steal the midterms it would have to be so obvious it'd be undeniable.

Trudeau is getting fucking destroyed in the house of commons right now. This is the worst I've seen so far. Like holy shit are people angry.

The Federal Ministers also got grilled on EVERY SINGLE QUESITON, everyone, EVEN THE CBC, called them out on having literally no reason to instate the Emergencies Act.

This is a brutal day for the Liberals in parliament so far.

This is an astoundingly stupid and self-defeating argument. "Famines never happened except when they did", really? Famines happened every time a major disaster (like a volcanic eruption) occurred or more commonly because the country got invaded and all the men got conscripted and the other side stole all the food. Like just go look at a list of premodern famines, and notice the actual written accounts discuss peasants starving because they couldn't grow enough and someone demanded food they couldn't spare (because your landlord needs to pay his taxes). So yes, if you by some chance had a large natural disaster in a region (which inevitably happens every 30-50 years or so) and didn't have modern agriculture, fertilizer, and pesticides, then yes, you will look like those malnourished people in Africa and you will possibly get sick and die.
Do you know what we have that those people didn't have? NPK. Unlike those people from the middle ages, we know the required soil compositions for growing crops so we don't waste time trying to grow corn in clay. Growing corn, potatoes & watermelons are not hard, unless you have no dirt to grow from in say, a concrete jungle. Modern farmers know much more about the requirements to grow basic crops than people from the fucking Medieval period did.

The distinction with the American right is that by and large we aren't dealing with enough bullshit to warrant playing MC. There are tens of millions of American conservatives who have been living without coof restrictions for close to a year now. In regards to the bar example, bars in my area started selling hot dogs so they could remain open as "restaurants" during peak 2020 covid and no one cared. The American right does not have enough of a reason to do anything crazy.
I hear people making this argument, and its a bullshit argument. It should not matter that we've had a year and a half of relaxed restrictions. We're fucking America, we shouldn't have stood for any restrictions. A society with our constitution and our traditions should be educated enough to realize that.

Again, we're a country who's forefathers took on the mightiest Empire in the entire world over a fraction of the tax we're now paying. It should be engrained in our culture that we do not let our Government treat people this way.

We are a disgrace to what was intended for us, and saying stuff like "We haven't had it as bad as everyone else." is an excuse. We shouldn't have stood for it at all.

I've never watched Canadian PMQ's before, is it always this good?

Woot! Finally got this one uploaded.

I edited together the comments Scott Moe made today about the Emergencies Act, and tried to keep the quality low enough that it should hopefully stream alright.

Guys the messaging across the board politically today is very powerful and emotional.

People are not putting up with this shit.

I've never seen the House of Commons like this. This is amazing.

In principle, I agree.

But in 2022, why should I put my ass on the line for bugmen who WANT these measures and would fight against me to keep them in place?

The Founding Fathers didn't just start murking Redcoats at the first transgression. They originally had no intention of declaring independence.

They argued, protested, petititioned, and printed pamphlets and newspapers arguing "no taxation without representation". They were asserting their rights as Englishmen.

The Revolution didn't start until after the series of Intolerable Acts. They had exhausted all other options.

The only spouting bullshit is you. All this idealism is fine and dandy except when you're asking me to drive hours to get to a place with lockdowns to protest for the freedoms of people who wanted the lockdowns. I've got family and a life to consider, I'm not throwing my life away for some random faggots freedom who lives in another state. The freedoms of my family are secure and that's all that matter.

And this bullshit about "we should have fought ANY restrictions" is more idealized nonsense. The worst restrictions I had to deal with was wearing masks. I'm not going to throw my life away over a fucking mask, no matter how stupid it is. You have to pick your battles smarter than that.

To answer your question practically?

In 2022, you're right. You shouldn't put your ass on the line for the bugmen. They're scum who want you dead, but those of us who can still think, and give a shit about traditions and reason, about the reason our country exists, need to let these two years be burned into our bones. We need to make sure our kids never doubt that what has happened to us is travesty, and that we do our part to teach the next generations the way the world should be.

Might be a bit doomer to say, but our generation, the generation after us? Lost. We can fight for scraps of freedom here and there like repealing mandates, but we're not gonna tear down what they've built. We have to accept, much like builders of old, and even the leftists of the early 1900s, that we won't live to see our work complete, but we still have to start laying those foundations.

Is this being dubbed in real, live time because they're talking in French or something?
