Frog's illogical PTSD over Snyder's appearance on G&G is causing him to make the ridiculous connections to the Frostkaren situation.
I'm late I know but why does Quartering care what EVS thinks? Frosk would be a big draw for his channel yet he decided to drop her so he could have a gay beef with a comic book artist?
Ethan is quite convinced there is a "soy-based", Vast Moderate Conspiracy against him featuring the disaffected liberal nerd turned "right wing" controlled opposition YouTube grifter syndicate that he just. can't. seem. to. get. along. with. This includes Quarterpounder and the Friday Night Tights core members, apparently.
Wonder who the mole is feeding him intel or if these are just assumptions on his part. They wouldn't be entirely implausible that they're organizing against him, but not sure I'd go to open war without a few receipts. In answer to his inquiry, no. I don't believe Quarterpounder showed up on FlashCast. Seeming to grasp at straws is not a good look, by the way. Makes you look paranoid and you certainly don't want to be
a weirdo pointing fingers on the Internet.
This whole thing is just gross, gay, and lame. The utter confusion is real from casuals in the FNT-related chats when the topic of CG/EVS comes up and they can't understand what the beef is over or why these guys can't get along. I used to think it was mere personality conflicts: a creator clashing with a bunch of uncreative, upjumped consumers. Neither Gary nor Az appear to like creative people very much (Gary has made the tell-tale "what we do is
actually creative" remark more than once). As shitty as all that is, it's a more assuring dynamic as creatives are often egocentric and mild-to-moderately neurotic while fans can be entitled, fickle, and often motivated to tear-down their idols. It's the shittiness we know and it kind of makes sense as a mere clash of personalities.
5 hours in Photoshop.
As it drags on there may be something to the argument for it being more politics and agendas: rival camps vying for the lucrative and inevitable Politics is Downstream from Culture™ bux that are sure to flow from on high in the coming years. This is a shittiness most of us do not know nor do we particularly want to. Ethan could presumably exploit the politics of this and win if he wanted to. He's way ahead of these guys in that regard. He'd have to be consistent and make it his goal to bury these chucklefucks, but he's no doubt got the cred and they simply don't once you scratch the surface. They have a string of moderate-profile guests, a decent intro, a good time slot, and >muh brand.
If FNT ever do make it "big time" off of YouTube whoever buys in could literally push-out everyone but Chrissie Mayr and be better off for it. If you've ever seen her comedy you'd know that she would then no doubt re-brand FNT as a reference to her vagina and not the nerd culture that she openly admits she knows next to nothing about, but it doesn't change the fact that she's just about the only one involved with any demonstrable talent. Of course there are peripheral guests like CriticalDrinker and Eric July who are more than mere complainers but the rest are truly zeroes. As for The Quartering, he seems to be in a better position to exploit drama due to the nature of his channel but he also appears to be somewhat of a problem drinker so if
@FROG is correct he may just be in it for the sport of making enemies. Regardless, it seems like a mad dash to some arbitrary amount of Fuck You Money that these grifters want to make and that EVS -through his occasional shade-throwing and inebriated hot takes- threatens to undermine. Gary appears to fear and loathe EVS on a personal level (and that's more than enough). Again, all Quartering/FNT have is hype and their channels, which is not based around making/shaping culture. It's based around commenting on it. Hence, the mad push to get behind Eric July, I suspect. When the money at the next level comes to kick the tires, they can trot out based black libertarian and his RippaVerse™ to address these concerns.
Or maybe this is over-analysis and it's just petty, gay Internet slap-fighting. I dunno.
For such a physically large man, Jeremy sure holds his booze like a 90lbs female.
Only he knows for sure, but Jeremy appears to have a drinking problem. Generally, outside of a brief window of sowing one's wild oats as a youth, getting shitfaced drunk and publicly humiliating yourself through broadcasting inter-personal drama, maliciously divulging the contents of private conversations in fit of pique, slurring your speech to the point that strangers notice, doing cringe Irish goodbyes, etc. is more than enough to qualify yourself to the benign cult of Alcoholics Anonymous. This appears to be something that's just normalized and accepted amongst streamers, though.
Of course, I'd be remiss if I neglected to mention
Cecil being right there with him. In fact, as soon as Cecil brought up the fact he was taking pain meds while drinking he should have been booted from JACK Show the other night. Friends don't let friends pass out on stream and choke on their own vomit. That is assuming they all didn't want him dead in the first place. Ethan appeared to revel in the shameful display, so who knows? Work or shoot, it's this sort of degeneracy that could marginalize CG/EVS in the above-mentioned political power plays, though.
Slowly back away, Dan Lawlis:
