I'm a strong liberty/individual rights guy, but I have to admit I'm feeling the seductive pull of an authoritarian-right state at the moment.

It would be a disaster in the long run, but the schadenfreude I'd feel as they unpersoned, debanked, and imprisoned every last one of these smug leftist fucks who couldn't just leave us alone would almost make it worth it.

I've been warning people for years about the forceful backlash the political, leftist elite have been working on at all levels of society. Stacking brush, closing pressure relief valves, whatever analogy you prefer to use, the situation is the same. Without a way to participate or affect change peaceably, eventually the only option left remaining will be a very violent right-wing backlash straight out of the most frothing mad fantasies of Reddit. Some right wing strongman with Trump's charisma and influenced by his approach will seize power - and unlike Trump he won't be held back by the swamp because he's going to straight up execute them. Since the left is hell bent on pushing race narratives and skin-color affinity groups, they also essentially guarantee a strong ethno-nationalist flavor to this right-wing backlash, and I predict that will fall along White and White/Latino lines with 'traditional' European groups complimented by well assimilated high-caste 'white-passing' European-blooded people. Look for your local American Einzatzgruppen Hauptman, John Rays, great grandson of Juan Reyes.

It's also strategically beneficial for them to spend 100% of their time attacking the other side instead of advocating for their snake oil cure. Basically "they're evil, put us in charge", and brief ad homs for anyone questioning them before returning to message.

I've seen a similar strategy used in debates by the weaker side. "Their side has this, that, and this other fatal problem". Spends very little time presenting much for the other side to attack. Then declares victory during closing arguments because the other side made their own case rather than replying to their points.

Yeah, no shit, the thought leaders of the Communist movement realized back in the 50s and 60's that Western Culture and Capitalism made a civilization that was too successful. Everybody was too comfortable with their lifestyles and cultures to accept the revolution and transition to a communist state. The answer to this dilemma was not to reconsider if communism would really be that great in comparison, but instead to infiltrate and destroy all the liberal democracies and burn every institution to the ground. Once everything is garbage, then communism would look reasonable in comparison. Brilliant!

Saw a bus stuck on a hill for 2 hours last night, I am guessing all the really large tow trucks are previously occupied. I been watching a few of the livestreams and news coverage, looks like most of the protesters have moved out of the zone compared to last week. The police have erected fencing all around the zone and are now checking people moving in and out of the zone in vehicles. No more vehicles contributing to the protest are allowed in only people who live and work in the zone are clear to enter. Pretty much without the emergency act even in place yet the police have locked down the area. My guess is they will issue a final warning to leave at some point in the near future and anyone left inside the zone will be arrested.
