It gets better.
They're reducing cervical screening in some parts of the UK from every 3 years to every 5. Basically, they test the sample for HPV and don't bother checking the cells if the sample is clear, and there's no recall for 5 years for those women who come back clear of HPV.
Also the only adult groups who can't get the HPV vaccine on the NHS? Women and straight men. Gay men, transwomen and transmen can all get the vaccine up to something like 45 years old, for free,
courtesy of the NHS. But women, the cohort it was actually developed for, are SOL unless they had it in school or can afford the £500 to get it done privately.
But yeah NHS, keep throwing all that money and time at these demented men to screen them for cell changes in an organ they don't have.
