Off-Topic Losing people to transgenderism support thread - Support group for trans widows and other people who lost loved ones to troonism

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So there was this tomboy amateur subreddit I used to go that had some really hot well endowed girls. Thanks to this insanity it has mutated into a "transmasc"-whatever cesspool full of alt-thots showing their horrible chest scars and linking their OF.

Update on my friend. I knew he had depression but apparently it's gotten worse. He admitted that he hasn't felt happiness in a long time and he's been burnt out. He recently tried to commit suicide. I think the reason he's trying to transition is to find some semblance of happiness. It won't be there. If it's there, it'll be gone quickly.

One day if I get the chance, I'll tell him this. To be quite honest, I think he really just needs to get away from the world and internet. He's terminally online and his job is stressful. If I could just place him on a farm where the nearest town is 30 minutes for a month, he might start being functional.
Another update on my friend. We were talking about the Texas ban and I told him that I kinda agreed about the puberty blockers because of how bad they wrecked your bones. He simply said "I'd much rather have shitty bones than a repressed mental illness."

I described to him how it's not just shitty bones. How you can end up in a wheelchair. How a cough or sneeze can hurt you. How Bending over can hurt you. How wheelchair life is quite terrible and how it can never be fixed.

D, that bitch, stepped in and stopped the conversation and deleted it. How silly of these discord things. It's like they hate having a mirror shown to their faces that shows the end result of their actions. All the time online, they delete, they block, they hide.

I'm the server owner and I technically could fight over this small thing but is it worth dividing a community and potentially driving me out? No. Will it save my friend? No. Are they probably talking about me in some silly dm? Will my friend eventually die from suicide or a heart complication due to the estrogen affecting his heart if things continue? Yes. Can I stop it? Maybe. But I have to be around in order to save my friend. But even then I see myself slipping further and further away from him and it worries me. It's quite silly of myself to be so worked up over an internet friend but I've known them for nearly a decade so unfortunately I've grown to care for him.

The funny thing is that I don't even call myself a terf. I simply understand that being transgender is a mental condition and the treatments we are giving out aren't making them happy. Their overall wellness never improves for long. It's in short bursts and then it goes back to normal. And people think I'm insane for seeing their lives and going "Wow, their lives aren't happy." I have never met a single troon that was okay and had a fulfilling life and good friends and family they can count on.

In my life, I've seen:
  • an insane ftm that abused people
  • an anorexic mtf that immediately went to sex work (most likely due to sexual abuse)
  • an autistic mtf that basically has transgenderism as a hyperfixation and won't stop talking about it or vaginas
  • an mtf that severely lacks true love in their life
  • another mtf that has severe functioning issues due to their mental illness
  • And D, the manipulative person that I mentioned here today that would probably start a cult if they had the power
None of them have good lives. They're all suffering in different ways.

I felt conflicted on whether to put :agree: or :feels: on this, because it is a mixture of both in my opinion.

Has there been any sign at all of pushback from the mental health community in terms of attempting to unpack people's issues with their gender identity to see if they really have gender dysphoria rather than labelling everybody as "trans" and encouraging self-destructive and irreversible medical treatments and procedures?

Nope. Mostly because it's easier and more lucrative to give them what they're whining for than it is to actually help them.

That and the tiny issue of society being conditioned to cater to them because of how suicidal they are.

As far as I've seen just this:

Hey @PinstripeLuns , if you're still looking for research that doesn't support troonery, check out this: Transgender medicalization and the attempt to evade psychological distress

A few choice excerpts:

"...failure to address relevant psychological issues can result in trans people making unnecessary, permanent changes to their bodies, without adequate scientific justification for doing so."

"Chris’s autogynephilia could be regarded, in part at least, as a defence against relational intimacy, and his mother’s rejection of his male body made it hard for him to establish a securely embodied sense of self (Winnicott 1970). It would have been helpful if Chris had seen an analyst able to work effectively with such early relational issues prior to surgery. Instead he was offered a series of six psychological assessments at the Charing Cross Hospital and told that there was a nine‐year wait for surgery. He decided to bypass the whole process and paid privately for surgery. Many of today’s young people have also made ‘gender affirming’ medical treatment their goal. Unfortunately, the evidence base supporting the efficacy of such treatment is extremely poor."

"There is a rapidly growing body of literature suggesting that psychological issues can play a crucial role in young people’s trans‐identification. These include difficulties coming to terms with puberty, other sexual difficulties including abuse, social isolation, affect dysregulation, alexithymia, anxiety, depression, self‐harm, body dysmorphic disorder, attachment trauma, problems with triangulation and symbolization, as well as unconscious homophobia and autistic traits. A young person can all too easily adopt a trans‐identity as a way of attempting to evade these difficulties."

"As I have remarked (2018c), in 20 years’ time we are likely to look back on this as one of the darkest chapters in modern medical history."

"It is sobering to realize that future generations could well view current treatment protocols for trans‐identified young people as a form of ‘sexual lobotomy’"
To be quite honest, it seems like a significant portion of the mental health community understands that this whole trans thing isn't actually good but they're keeping hush hush because it'll ruin their life. It's depressing because I know a psych major that's going to have a practice soon and she agreed with me and basically said "There's nothing you can obtain that can really make you happy and fix your life." It really just comes down to yourself.

Transitioning is portrayed as a cure all which is something that the medical field actively hates but for some reason, they change their tune when it comes to this. It's actually very similar to lobotomies because lobotomies were done on patients, adults through children, because they lacked the resources to properly care for these individuals in their homes or in facilities. The lobotomy often caused irreparable damage to the patient and the effect was simply to make the patient easier to care for. Violent patients more quiet and able to handle and such. However, oftentimes it didn't work that way. The patient could become incontinent and need more care, the treatment just wouldn't work so they could have to do the procedure again, etc. Then they started moving from serious cases to milder ones and even milder until you were lobotomizing children because they had behavioral problems that could easily be fixed,

Even then the common population was freaking out. There was this one time where a doctor had paraded lobotomized children onto a stage and people started getting upset. Lobotomies were extremely rampant in the US and kind of only died out when psychiatric drugs were finally created.

So literally all we need to do is figure out how to cure them and then it'll go away. However, that's the hard part since such things are now considered "conversion therapy"

So, basically, many mental health professionals are afraid to offer a dissenting opinion for fear of being labeled "transphobic" and face being harassed or worse.

It is amazing that it came to this. I mean, the mental health profession does not encourage apotemnophiliacs to hack off healthy body parts, so society has a huge blind spot when it comes to this. How did the troon community become so powerful in such a short period of time, when the ideas that come from it and its members are so horrifying?

Well.....
The girl I know who's parents turned her into a boy due to dumb intersex stuff (The only transgender I met who isn't crazy) was actually
put into an ongoing study. The doctors are interested in the fact she didn't have dysphoria then, nor now after losing her previous
gender identity as a man. While she can't go into details, she met a few of the other rare cases of this happening and they all also
never had gender identity issues. After comparing notes, she said the gist of it is that WPATH is being seriously revised due to the
new ideas that dysphoria might be much more a mental illness and not a physical one, all due to her and other intersexed kids
being entirely ok with whatever gender they were treated as. Seems the doctors think that gender really is a social construct, unlike sex
and that perhaps the idea of gender needs to be updated or removed. They find it fascinating that she and others in her group
also don't have suicidal thoughts and that they easily shift into a female life even after being men for decades. The other doctors
seem to be thinking that giving men estrogen is straight up making them crazy, emotional nutcases.

Needless to say, she thinks people shouldn't be on cross sex hormones and thinks troonery is stupid.

Trannies took the place of fags as the movement used to further break down gender roles and the ability to form families. If you make it so people don't form families the govt becomes their family and they become good little consumer piggies.

Instead he's going with the "Shitty bones and an indulged mental illness" option.
Yes exactly because transitioning often solves nothing because it's a "cure all" like those people that inject bleach

So, basically, many mental health professionals are afraid to offer a dissenting opinion for fear of being labeled "transphobic" and face being harassed or worse.
You hit it right on the head. They are trying to help their patients but if they do so, they will be doing what is considered conversion therapy. So probably the only you can do as a therapist is recognize those issues in your patient, try to fix those issues that have created the transgenderism, and then allow them to hopefully get better.

It is amazing that it came to this. I mean, the mental health profession does not encourage apotemnophiliacs to hack off healthy body parts, so society has a huge blind spot when it comes to this.
Or anorexics with their body dysmorphia issues. We don't allow them to starve.

How did the troon community become so powerful in such a short period of time, when the ideas that come from it and its members are so horrifying?
They latched onto the LGB community and become a repressed minority with them. When the gays started to get rights, they too started to butt in and go "Um excuse me, we're a part of this too!" and that's how it all happened.

I’m pretty sure someone I’ve known for quite a few years is gearing up to troon out.
He is, of course, a straight white middle class man who works in tech, also married with kids. He’s being a bit vague and weird on Zuccbook, firstly getting everyone he knows to de-tag him in pics. I may have tagged pics of him, but I’m going to happily leave them as is, because fuck him. He ‘came out’ as queer recently and started banging on about how oppressed he is, which got him lots of asspats. I just cringed as this guy is in his forties and too old for that shit, He’s also making a big deal about getting hold of his medical records as I suspect he was planning on claiming some sort of DSD, but the idiot obviously did no research first or he’d have known Dr’s records are only kept for 10 years in this country. He’s also started spouting all the usual TRA bollox of the ‘we just want to one/play sports/ barge into places we’re not wanted’ variety.
He’s going to be a spectacularly ugly woman. Part of me is looking forwards to this shitshow.
He is 100% for sure cooming to sissy hypno. What a lame AGP stereotype he is. Poor kids.

Pro-ana is basically dead these days. They mostly transitioned to troonery.
Not to mentioned it was never sanctioned by the mental health world, unlike troonery.

Say, seeing how troons have latched on to the alphabet people, is there any chance of it raising enough ire among the LGB portion to the point of the LGBs telling the troons "Fuck off, you can't sit with us anymore. You have your own movement."

I know there is a lot of resentment among the lesbian community for how "transbians" have taken over their dating pools and turned it into a cesspool.

Already happening. The LGB Alliance formed in the UK explicitly to drop the T. They're growing pretty fast.

On Grindr where I am at least. There is rarely any women on, but the number of troons are getting high.
I wish they were thrown out, as they have nothing to do there. If we're going by woke standards. They are women and since they like men, they are straight and Grindr is an app for fags. So it is transphobic of them to even be on Grindr.
I just puked a lil bit writing that.

Pritzker money, for one.
This canary in the coalmine of a book highlights another part of how it essentially crept up. Dreger describes her own efforts to campaign for sexual minorities of all stripes, in particular the intersex, and to reverse incredibly harmful treatments being done to children. All of the sudden, things shift and she finds herself beset by once-allies without much in the way of recourse, effectively finding a lot of money pointing a campaign straight at her position as a professor.

Academia is a bureaucracy more concerned with the endless profits of research-milling and drawing in the widest potential base of fat pigeons possible. The push towards using that research to reflect reality, to help people, to affect change has been subjugated in order to better grow Universities' coffers. What comes out of Academia tends to represent the upper crust of society - only something like 36% of US adults have degrees, and how many members of the upper 36% of the income scale do you think are going to forego getting a degree?

Donate to a bunch of universities in wildly large amounts and tell them that setting up a department on gender studies will be something they can advertise with for good PR and to attract more easy cash. Get some people staffed through your connections who don't really otherwise have any skills or anything to do, so they can focus exclusively on policing how the university talks and acts - which is still fine, since it's a small price to pay for all that donation money. Then dump a bunch of money into young-adult watering holes, like shitty pop-culture rags. Get them to employ more affluent kids who really can't cut it anywhere else, since they'll say whatever you want so long as you pat their ass and give them a paycheck. More importantly, they'll signal-boost something that you can then feed to the modern version of a "journalist": someone who watches twitter all day.

Viola, you've now got a system that becomes self-reinforcing. A massive generational shift that veers wildly in one direction, being led by the wealthiest and most powerful caste in any given country. Universities don't want to lose out on easy money, because they are the greediest motherfuckers more than willing to consign countless students to debt-prisons just so long as they can pay their upper 10% of administration massive bonuses year-on-year. Media outlets are obsessed with social media and twitter because their main forms of competition are there, and so they don't want to do the slightest little thing which could cause them to receive backlash. Smaller companies aren't really sure how to handle massive internet backlashes, or even what effect that might have on their business, so they're wary. Larger companies have PR departments, which tend to be soft targets that you can easily push around through conjuring up a shitstorm on social media apropos of nothing. You get your pieces into position, you get them the message, you bankroll the entire operation, and you create something that has its own momentum - rocketeering forward on the backs of neets and minors who don't know any better and live mostly in a world of fantasy.

The comical undertone to it all is that the shrewder elements of the elite are more than aware of this project, and more than willing to provide it a helping hand just so long as it allows them to have a get-out-of-jail-free card. Massive banks that provide funding to PMCs and have dubious connections to companies that force children to work in mines riddled with lead? That all gets hidden away under the balm of "we made our bathrooms gender-neutral." Human rights abuses, animal abuse, supporting war criminals in order for access to rare earth minerals; there is no crime so great that you can't hide it away underneath the paint of "trans rights." You've got a young generation that was very, very enthusiastic for an openly socialist candidate - and even in his abject failure, that generation coming into power might be more restrictive to corporate profits than previous ones. So why not rob them of all their momentum by just supporting this massive, divisive thing whose self-obsession ensures that the attention will always be on them, and never be on where you capital is going?
