I get why this matters and why this is extremely important and everything...

But besides "Putin is a dictator", I can't really see why I'd root for him to lose too much. The fact that a bunch of neolibs want him to be strung up kind of makes me wonder if he's not really the bad guy here.

Not sure he ever has been. Russia has been used as the boogeyman for years, since the 80's with the red panic, it was only a matter of time before the left started losing their mind over Russia, which started to occur in the mid 2010's.

I think I'm going to stop following the news for the night and relax and do other stuff before going to bed. This doesn't directly affect me and there's too much fog of war to sort out what's real and what's propaganda over the internet. One way or another, Ukraine will still be there tomorrow, I can find out if the war's still going on then. I wish ya'll luck sorting it all out in the meantime.

From the beginning Putins endgame was Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus, the latter will be a puppet regime if the current one doesn’t work out (which it has). He can’t get anymore west without actually triggering a real response and then shit would really hit the fan.
