I think what a lot of people are missing here is that Putin is full of shit. NATO hasn't done shit to stop this. They were never very interested in getting involved in Ukraine. They are focusing on protecting member states and haven't risen for the bait.

The people blaming various western governments for "allowing" this forget that they were never under any obligation to stop it. So they aren't.

Some Ukrainian pilot went full on Ace Combat 4 and fought several other russian fighter jets by himself according to rumors, no one knows if he survived.

The number of times I've read local blogs posting HURR DURR RUSSIAN VEHICLES DESTROYED only for it to later come out to be Ukrainian hardware that's smoldering makes me doubt this. The Ukes and NATOcels are in full cope mode.

Most of the Russian minority was brought into Ukraine by Soviet Unions after it had committed few genocides in the Ukraine and Crimea. This was the case with the most Russian minorities in eastern European countries.
