It's been pretty much mutually agreed that the astronauts are effectively non-combatants and nobody has anything to gained from petty acts of sabotage or trying to take the station for one country exclusively. It'd set a really bad precedent, and perhaps fatally cripple all future international collaboration in space.

Think of it like this: You're on a little bubble of air floating around in deep space, and if you take the station but the other side ultimately wins, you might just be fucking left up there to die.
