Nothing about Chantal’s lies and bullshit being revealed would change anything about how the law would handle a case like this. The police would know from Chantal’s telling of events, including her admitting she wouldn’t be there if they were still together, that she’s not a credible witness and basing a case solely on her word would be a waste of time. They will look for what they can prove. Nader’s history makes him equally low on credibility and his own words and actions make Chantal’s story more easily believed. Throw in some additional women throwing accusations in his direction, if that’s true, then MAYBE they could make it stick but even then I doubt it would necessarily be the specifics of his interactions with Chantal that land him in trouble.
People are talking as if real cases don’t play out with this level of fuckery on the daily. Chantal is not a victim, but her behaviour is also not necessarily out of step with an actual victim. Rarely are victims perfect, and I sincerely doubt vindictiveness is a Chantal specific reason to come forward.
On the other side of the coin, even when victims ARE unquestionably the victim, batshit crazy things are par for the course. There was a relatively well known case wherein a husband seemingly absolutely randomly snapped and stabbed the shit out of his wife while they were out for a walk in the park (and I’m not talking about a pussy Nader level stabbing - this was an absolutely brutal attack). He then left her for dead, walked over to a group of people and informed them he’d just killed his wife. She lived. And throughout his trial, both the wife, the husband, and their children spent most of it asking the judge to please let them live together again. The details as to whether there was a history of DV or if this was a one-off psychotic break were never made clear. Frankly, that the wife would feel safe with him again in either event is mind boggling.
The point I’m really making here is that people are unpredictable as fuck even when you’re not throwing cluster b disorders and copious amounts of drugs into the mix. None of this saga, except perhaps how publicly it played out, will be new to the police. They’ll look for what they can convincingly prove. The rest is just rolling the turd in glitter.

I don’t think that opinion is all that unpopular. I think it’s pretty well established that Nader’s a piece of shit. Does that mean he’s guilty of the things these women (thus far only Chantal and Mae that we know of for sure, who are both unreliable narrators for various reasons) are accusing him of? Maybe, maybe not, but it almost doesn’t make a difference.
