Its different from what the US does because killing and torture actually works better to control a country than teaching gender studies classes
See Afghanistan
The Soviet Union spent years killing and torturing in Afghanistan. The end result was not much different than when the Americans
taught gender studies classes. But Ukraine is no Afghanistan and the counter-example is that the Russia were able to tame the
chechns by beating and kicking them until they finally understood.

Then again, even with that in mind, this full-on invasion doesn’t seem like a wise strategy for Russia. The cost/benefit analysis is questionable at best particularly now that they’ve been severed from the (((international banking system)))
Economic sanctions can be reversed through diplomacy more easily than a NATO military buildup in Ukraine can. The cost to Russia over this war is going to be significant, true, but Russian leadership clearly believes that the cost is less than what will happen to Russia if they allow Ukraine to continue its course of action with tying itself to the West.

It's difficult to say that calculation is incorrect on its face. Ukraine is geographically located very close to the bulk of where Russia's population lives and most of its significant industry. Close Ukrainian cooperation with NATO militaries could very easily translate to nuclear-capable forces being located even closer to these regions in Russia than Cuba is to similar assets in the United States. I don't have a crystal ball that tells me how this will all shake out, but I can't say that returning Ukraine to the status of a true buffer state isn't worth it to Russia in the long term.

You mean the same Afghanistan the Soviets lost in where they wiped entire villages off the map because there may have been someone in it and killed hundreds of thousands civilians? Yeah being brutal sure helps. (Not defending women’s studies)
Let’s just agree invading an occupying a foreign country is a foolish thing to do

That's correct, you get it. The Russians haven't been pumping out many lies because they haven't had to. When you've bitch slapped a nigger and he's lying at your feet there's no need to be a fake tough guy. Of course they would lie their arses off if the situation was different. Assume that in war everything you see and hear is fabricated. Pretty soon we're going to have 100% realistic deep fake video and it's going to be fun watching that used in war.

Anyway I'm not sure how the public will react when the Ukraine surrenders, probably not well.
The salt levels will be off the charts.

Because they are all communists at heart still.
Everywhere else Putin is seen as a far left ally and he gets his cock sucked by communists except for americans that always have everything backwards and center their whole worldview around lgbt faggots and reddit, as per usual

Please for the love of God Putin, nuke Detroit. And San Francisco, LA, pretty much all of the West Coast, NYC, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, OKC, Austin, New Orleans, and Minneapolis.
Russia is just a gigantic Detroit though

Because you're still allowing yourself to be swayed by the media psy-ops that we're swimming in.

Everything that's been reported in the west about the Ukraine is fake. Every uplifting story about beauty queens picking up AKs, brave pilots shooting down Ruski jets, newlyweds fighting together on the front lines, all of it is faked. The story about the Ukrainian doctor saying goodbye to his young son to go take up arms against the invader? Turns out he was an ethnic Russian from the Donbas about to go to the front to fight the Ukrainians. Western media give zero fucks about pumping out propaganda at the best of times for even trivial reasons. But now there is an actual war launched by the human being they despise the most? Gloves are off.

The Ukrainian President is currently holed up in a bunker in Lvov waiting for his transport to Dubai should the peace talks not go so well.

The Russians are currently surrounding every major strategic objective on their list and about to call in their actual army to finish things off should the peace talks not go well.

That;s what's actually happening right now. And no Putin isn't gambling, he isn't irrational, he's already won.
the propaganda on the other side is that Russia already destroyed an army of all NATO countries combined with zero casualties, ukrainans are celebrating their liberation with flower parades and Putin close to marching an army on washington to negotiate the united states annexation to the russian federation as newly de-nazified soviet republic.

Meanwhile Russians about to be buck broken by an already shit economy becoming shittier by sanctions , a forever occupation and becoming a bdsm bottom for China.

It's over guys, the West has come up with an economic sanction that will absolutely devastate those Russki slavs:

I have no idea who or what fucked the Russian Army so hard that they decided the best way to invade a country was to just send random groups of troops into Ukraine and essentially tell them to just go as fast as possible and "shoot things".

Chechnya also has a weird semi autonomous thing going where the Russian government basically just bribes them not to make trouble. I suspect when putin dies/leaves office the whole arrangement is going to collapse and there's going to be trouble again.

And by bribing the local clan rulers. It was part of how europe could not only occupy but conquer ("colonize") so much of the world. Its a lesson that Russia has relearnt. Though its not really applicable in Ukraine.

Ukraine will hold at Odessa

Next thing to happen in my opinion is Tranistria army with Russian "Peace keepers" will cut off the border with Romania and strike towards Odessa and the Belarussian army will cut off the polish border by striking to Lviv cutting off the supplies of stuff

The thousands of peacekeepers in Tranistria have gone really quiet and are probably awaiting an order to move the 30 km to Odessa.

Gonna level with you, I got a doughnut for breakfast this morning. That's my level of preparation.
