CPAC straw poll results are in and no one is falling for the anti-Russian psyop among conservatives I guess
White pill, although we'll have to wait and see what happens if the media can create a "they ripped babies out of incubators!" moment.

There's a bunch of surprised westerners saying in the replies saying, "WOAH, that's not very wholesome chungus of you Ukraine!" but I'll say I think it's quite based.

This is what a war panic looks like. Everyone is losing their minds. Nobody is thinking at all rationally anymore. The media
has worked everyone into a frenzy and this is the result.
Word, nobody should care if some potato "people" and a bunch of Russians wanna shoot at each other. Doesn't have a god damned thing to do with me, or with most of you either unless you live in the Balkans. And if you live in the Balkans you're probably a smelly potato person too so who cares

I disagree with this sentiment for a couple of reasons but I've been thinking about this line of thought for a bit. I think the west wants Russia to destroy Ukraine. We know even flirting with the idea of adding a country that close to Russia will cause instability. I refuse to believe the top brass and policy makers in our country doesn't know this. What if the plan was to not actually get Ukraine join us but to force Russia's hand to invade which in term would cause Russia's own self-destruction or severely damage their own foreign relations and/or military capability? This would essentially kill multiple birds with one stone.

1. Make Russia lose a vital asset. Again, we don't actually have to get Ukraine to join NATO but just make the region unstable enough to were Russia can't control it effectively.
2. This invasion gives the US and other western allies a good reason to economically untangle ourselves from Russia.
3. Make Russia look politically deranged and uncooperative that even their closes allies (India, Iran, and even China to a lesser degree) wipe their hands clean from them.
4. Re-establish our reputation and dominance in the world as leader of democracy (Foreign support/likeability of America has skyrocketed).

Could this be a sort of test run to bring down a superpower without using nuclear weapons? It would be interesting if these were the true intentions US lawmakers had in mind.
I kind of doubt that. NATO already had countries bordering Russia with Estonia, Latvia, and technically Lithuania and Poland. With Turkey just across the Black Sea. So I don't think Ukraine joining would change much, especially as in the event of a war they'd likely either remain neutral or ally with the west at that time. I don't think they were even interested in joining NATO before Crimea. They just wanted to join the EU for improved economic opportunities, but a Putin favoring leader of theirs blocked it and everything started coming apart.

As for the rest, it'd be a huge gamble. Provoking Russia into an offensive is the sort of thing that can drag the rest of Europe into war with it, and if things start going badly, it's likely the nukes start getting broken out. I don't think either side is quite crazy enough to go straight for full MAD, but it's a small step from using tactical nukes on army concentrations to someone getting twitchy enough to go "fuck it, launch everything at everyone". All told it's far too big a risk to take. Especially when the alternative is to isolate Russia economically and hope that the pressure causes Putin's internal allies to desert him in favor of finding someone who's more concerned about good trade relations with the rest of the world.

Nobody nearly started a nuclear war in 1962 except some high Soviet officers with their heads up their asses deciding to give Cuban officers authority to order the firing of Soviet tactical nukes if the US invaded without telling Kruschev, when Nikita found out he flipped his lid and asked if Soviet soldiers took orders from the Soviet Union or from Cuba. He got big mad over it.
What's funny is that shit like Dr. Strangelove didn't even get near to the level of pure clownshoes slapstick comedy shit that actually nearly did destroy the entire world. If Kubrick had tried to make a comedy out of stuff that actually happened in reality, he would have been laughed out of the business.

So now the mayor is saying that the city is not surrounded. And you decide when the curfew is you dipshit.
What he is saying is that the city is absolutely NOT surrounded. But that no civilians should try to leave the city now because it is surrounded. And there is a curfew in place
so they should not go themselves to see if the city is surrounded.

its LOLs like this in a war that makes it all worth it.

There is just no way to know anymore. There is no adult leadership in any of the countries involved. You look at the line up:
- Joe Biden
- Macron
- Justin Trudeau
- Boris Johnson
- Olaf Scholz

These are all stupid, incapable people. Meantime the western media is building up a literal war frenzy in a completely irresponsible way. And that kind of thing
can create a momentum of its own. There is a literal will out there now in the public to go to war regardless of any consequences including nuclear war.
The narrative in the press exactly reflects the thinking of the American elite which means they are willing to accept a war as well.

The thing is that a big war could come as the result of a bunch of small actions. Joe Biden is stupid and a coward. But he could be convinced to do something
like start an air war over Russia as a "safe option". In alot of very scary ways, the world feels like August 1914 right before world war I broke out. Only all
the leadership in all the countries today is FAR WORSE than it was in 1914.

I'm hoping for a miracle. But in the back of my mind I keep thinking we are doomed.
The sad thing about being doomed is that we don't even have any good art, fashion, or culture to lose. Everyone dresses and looks like blobs in potato sacks and all of our movies are rehashes of older movies. Statues of old war heroes are pulled down and replaced with junk pile modern art or bigheaded statues of joggers who were killed while committing petty crimes. We need a big broom to come down from heaven and sweep all of this trash away, although I'm not looking forward to dying of radiation burns because some dementia patient installed in the White House accidentally fell asleep and hit his forehead on the Big Red Fuck Humanity Button on the corner of his desk.

While funny, Azov better hope they aren't captured. I feel like having an escalating battle of warcrimes is a terrible idea
