Okay I red so much bullshit the last couple days, let me recap some facts.

- Ukraine is boned to fight Russia 1v1. Air supremacy rules everything and Ukraine's airfield have been shuted down.

- Distributing small arms to civillians in huge urban centers for a siege preparation is A FUCKING TERRIBLE idea. They make themselves a target, won't do shit vs artillery, tanks, air superiority and trained soldiers ( to a degree ). Also mighty tempting to go on a robbing spree if things get bleak. That's a desesperate Volksturm move and we are not in 1945.

- Russia is acting out of national security interest while violating a nation's right to govern itself; This is a very complicated moral issues and people painting it pure black or white are absolute fucking monkeys.

I'm torn as to which side is morally less worse: Volodymyr Zelensky strikes me more of the type that prefers his people going down and keep a good self image, rather than take the fall and make the conflict end, saving a lot of lives. I feel for the population not wanting to get annexed by their neighboor, but is it really worth dying for?

If I was him, I would offer terms and abdicate to save ukrainian lives; people right now are fighting and dying for absolutly nothing as the outcome is already decided. That would be blood on my hands instead of just Putin's.
The thing that scares me the most is that the West would be ready to cause mass casualty incidents purely for propaganda purposes to make Putin and Russia look bad.

The old "I'm rubber, you're glue" maneuver, huh?

Why would IRBM's need to be parked in Ukraine to hit European capitals? The distance from Moscow to Berlin is 1600 km, to London it's 2500 km.

That's well within IRBM range even without putting them in Belarus, which is, as you say, already a pliant country that can be a missile base for Russia to hit any country in Europe.

So what's the grand plan for Ukraine? Being able to hit parts of North Africa?
Flight time. Dispersal. Redundancy.

Same fucking reasons Russia used as their justification to preemptively invade. Except that they actually have the missiles. They, according to their own press, are deploying them to Belarus right now. No reason to believe that they wouldn't move farther south from time to time.

Wouldn't have needed to do any of this shit if they just stuck to the INF treaty and the Budapest Memorandum, but alas.

We have pictures of real dead men in this thread, imaginary children getting dicked is not so bad in comparison.

I just thought of something. You know how people are saying "it's just like the Cuban Missile crisis, ermagerd. Putin is totally justified because grave security risk. etc etc"

The US didn't invade Cuba because of that. I know what you are thinking, and no, the Bay of Pigs was before. They engaged the USSR and got the missiles removed in a deal that also removed missiles from Europe. No war. No invasion.

Weird. Anyone else notice that it was being towed by a tractor?
Well Putin tried that but the West believes that we live in the End of History so he got no deal. I wonder if this will spiral so much that a Russian ambassador will be unironically told "We don't negotiate with terrorists".
Like most of you, I believe that the causes of this war are mostly geopolitical. Putin wants to stop NATO expansion, he wants access to the natural gas that Ukraine has recently discovered in its borders. But I just couldn't stop thinking about what he said to the Ukrainian soldiers...

"Take power into your own hands. It will be easier to come to terms with you than with this gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis" he said, in reference to the government of Ukraine. The Western press dismissed this as a bizarre outburst. They said it was an unhinged lie.

Naturally, I realized immediately that what he was saying was at least partially true and that he was talking about specific people or groups in power in the Ukraine. They wouldn't have dismissed it so quickly otherwise.

The drug addict stuff I can't find. Hopefully, someone else can fill us in on this. It didn't take long to find what many others in this thread are already familiar with... the Azov Battalion and their horrific crimes in the Donbass. I would compare the things I have found about them to be similar in character to ISIS videos and trust me... I watched far too many ISIS videos. I was working in the Middle East when they were at their height. The Azov Battalion has shaken me far more though.

The Azov boys terrorised the Donbass. They beat and murdered people, raped them. But the video I saw that I will never forget... They crucified a civilian for aiding the separatists. Another person posted the video earlier in the thread but I can't find their post, so here it is again.

They nailed that man to a cross and as far as the Russian people are concerned they did it because he was Russian. And where is the international outrage? Where are the hashtags? Where is the George Floyd treatment? When people were being killed this cruelly by ISIS it was a global topic, but when it happens to a Russian civilian apparently no one cares. This video hasn't been spread widely in the West, but apparently it is well known in Russia.

How do you think they feel about that? I know how I would feel. How do you think they feel about the 2014 Odessa Massacre, where dozens of Russians were herded into a building and burned alive?

I am not joking. That happened. And why am I just learning about this now?

The grievances of the Russian people with the Ukrainian government are huge and anyone who thinks that they are unwilling to go through the hardships of sanctions for justice for their cousins in the Donbass is mistaken. Anyone who thinks the majority of Russians will turn on Putin over this is smoking the bad crack and anyone who thinks they care what the hypocritical West has to say may as well shit in their hands and eat it.

I don't want war. I don't want to see innocent Ukrainians suffer but I'm sick of being fucking lied to. Why tell us that Putin is insane and unhinged when he and his people have real grievances? Why spend billions educating us just to lie to us?

But the thing that really gets me... the thing that truly drives me up the wall is the fact that if you don't rate this post informative your mother will die in her sleep tonight.
I think "drug addicts" is just a reference to the DNC and similar NGOs who use Ukraine as a slush fund and whore farm.
