Good to know.

On different note, I ran across this earlier to today:

And wanted to ask does Putin seriously sit that far away from his advisors? Other photos appear to corroborate it:
So what the fuck is up with that? Is he that terrified of being assassinated? Or just that paranoid about catching covid or something?
Make sure everyone in a meeting knows they're his bitches

They have to make sure he can hear them and they can hear him

Not his problem it's theirs

Personally I'd go with it being a power play type deal. It has to make you feel powerful to be at the head of the table looking down at subordinates. If you're of an egotistical bent that is.

The way we have isolated Russia since the end of the Cold War just isn't right. Western Europe dragged the world into two massive World Wars, Russia saw massive casualties in both and bore the brunt of the fighting. We spent decades rebuilding Western Europe, kissing their asses, and shitting and isolating Russia. I don't agree with Putin invading Ukraine, but he has many legitimate points, and it has shown just how piss poor the west's policy and diplomacy has been for decades.
I don't recall Russia being unenthusiastic about fighting in either of those wars

At least before the Germans kicked their ass for 3 years straight in WW1 and when all they were doing was gobbling up half of Poland and conquering all of the Baltic States and invading Finland in WW2 before the Germans started kicking their ass again

Another good thread by a armchair (formerly actual) general, Zelensky needs to decide whether to order Ukrainian forces in the East to stand and die or attempt to retreat, knowing they'll be in the open with Russia having air superiority

I think someone upthread said Putin was a germaphobe.
So is Trump. I think a lot of politicians are. It’s what happens when you shake hands all the time and can take no sick days.

But it’s a low key reference to Hitler, because an infamous armchair psychiatric diagnosis claimed Hitler wanted to kill the Jews out of a fear of “filthiness” and “unhealthiness”.

Its interesting that both Germany and Japan have an obsession with cleanliness and extravagant toilet designs

Hitler was a fastidious and spartan man in his personal tastes but yeah I'm pretty sure the Hitler is a neurotic germaphobe stuff was good old propaganda

Let's pretend that tomorrow Ukraine says "WE SURRENDER. WE'RE GOING TO BE LIKE THE FRENCH AND JUST GIVE UP!"

Russia wins this tiny portion of land. He wins Chernobyl, which is a radioactive deadzone.

What are his prizes?!?!
- Every country hates him
- His own allies hate him.
- The only 3 people who are neutral with him are Cuba and 2 other very minor countries.
- China said they didn't condone this stuff. They're out
- His own citizens despise him
- Everyone he would have "ruled over" has left. They have all sought refuge in other countries. He has no one to rule.
- His economy is in shambles
- His legacy is tarnished.
- LITERALLY EVERYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG HAS GONE WRONG
- The world thinks he's a laughing stock because his big scary army got whipped and nae nae'd by ordinary civilians and a smaller army
- The ONLY REASON they surrendered is because Putin said "IF YOU GUYS DON'T STOP I'M GOING TO BLOW THE PLANET UP"

I don't think anyone thought less of Putin. Until he invaded Ukraine I always saw him as this intimidating man with a track record of badass achievements. But now? Dude's a disgrace. He just....This is like when Little Mac beats up Mike Tyson in a TAS speedrun. Everyone who's looking on at this is just like "Wait....This is the thing we were all afraid of?"
