these are very close to Ukrainian numbers pre and post 2014 russian invasion and Crimea annexation. I believe it was 20% before, 63% after
>Makes disputed land claims with Russia over 1939 borders and Winter War concessions yesterday
>Asks to join NATO today

Holy shit, did the Finns learn nothing from what happened with Ukraine? NATO does not want to admit any member with "unresolved external territorial disputes". That's one of the main reasons why Ukraine was never admitted as a NATO member.

So, what do the Finns do? Make a unresolved external territorial dispute claim and then afterwards immediately ask to join NATO. :story:

Close Combat is the only real tactical PC combat simulator. And not that new faggy one that runs and looks like hot shit.
I'm admittedly still new to combat sim shit.

Wasn't there also an initial jump in pro-NATO sentiment after the 2008 Russo-Georgian War or am I off in thinking that?

It really is crazy. I have a relative in her 60s and she's full on acting just like the dumbass 18 year olds on Twitter (except she's on Facebook.) Constant shares of the Ukrainian flag, thots and prayers, etc. She's even on the warpath, angry that my country (Canada, the rogue terrorist honk state) and the US aren't teleporting into Ukraine right now to blow up Iceland or whoever they're at war with. To my knowledge she doesn't even know anyone who comes from a Ukrainian or Russian background, but the hype around this is massive.

Now in fairness, this family member isn't exactly known for her intelligence but it's still pretty crazy. I'm quite sure that if I were to present her with a blank map of Ireland and ask her to point out to me where Keev (formerly Kiev's) is, she would point somewhere on it with the confidence that would rival only the most dimwitted Tik Tok witches or black Twitter social commentators (two groups who I've personally been pressuring NATO to nuke.)
It is amazing how much louder social media has gotten. How in hindsight Kony 2012 and Je suis Charlie are quaint and subdued by comparison.

We gave a voice to neurotic screaming retards and instead of laughing them off as clueless internet slacktivist weirdos, people now take them seriously. The fuck.

Holy fuck that's a big deal. I mean I know polls are bullshit, but still a jump that size means there is some real traction.
The reason it's being discussed was because a petition to the government which started right after the invasion got 50k signatures.
Usually such petitions got 5k or so over the course of their whole lifespan.

Don't kid yourself. #Kony2012 was just as fucking gay and retarded as this. The only difference is nobody in power actually gave a shit about Kony so it stayed mostly as a social media fad.

The slacktivist weirdos are what’s going to get us involved in another war if world leaders take them too seriously.

I still don't see Finland joining NATO, yet. The government holds the opinion of military officials in high regard and the official stance of the military is that "Every country, in principle, should take care of its own national defence." This has been unchanged.

Although, if there ever was a time and will to join NATO, it is right now. It just has to be done quickly enough that the Russians are not able to gather forces on the Finnish border to put pressure on the government. Currently, a significant portion of Russian troops that are generally garrisoned at the Finnish border in the Leningrad area have been pulled into Ukraine.

There's a growing number of videos ostensibly of Russian troops (note the white or red armbands to distinguish them, Ukrainians have yellow or none) looting liberating food shops:

Now, I can turn a blind eye to starving people stealing food but pay attention to the cheeky bastard on the left who helps himself to the notes in the till:

I haven't tried it myself but I don't think cash machines contain anything edible:

The hryvnia (Ukrainian money) is up about 25% against the ruble since the invasion started so this might actually be a good haul.
Random thought: If you're planning on siege-starving a city out, stealing all the easily accessible food from the stores makes a lot of sense.
I'm just watching the State of the Union listening to Biden trying to project toughness, and I can't help but notice Milley's feet.View attachment 3033300
Arms crossed, toes pointed in. Man is completely lacking in any form of confidence whatsoever.

Something is fucked, and he knows it. Something really really BAD has occurred behind the scenes.

Are they preparing to send us over to fight the Juden's wars again? Remember they need a congressional declaration of war to do this... except BIden already tossed 2000 soldiers over there without permission.

First thing Trump needs to do in his next term is rescind a lot of these permanent states of emergency and give up the emergency powers that a lot of this shit has relied upon.
