Euro-kiwis I have a question, is the winter over on your place or the worst is yet to come? Because if Putin decided to wait with this invasion until after the winter is over and Europe isn't grasped in the balls by having natural gas turned off, then he is a fucking moron.

The worst has by far passed but its not completely over. No gas and oil from Russia would definitely still hurt, but not as much as if it was in late december.

Im speaking mainly about people in this thread tbh. I don't use places like twitter or /pol. I am trying to keep the few braincells I have intact. But yeah I know pretty much everyones position in this thread since I have been following it.
Damn bro, credit to you for that. There's a lot of people posting in here, I'd need massive amounts of cocaine to keep track of who thinks what.

Nah, the winter's way gone now. And I'm pretty far up north.

For anyone wondering:

(had to do a double take on that, but I already knew)

I'm sure the germans said something like that when they saw how the russians fucked up against finland. NATO shouldn't get stupid and underestimate what the russians are capable of if they're backed into a corner
I wouldn't encourage complacency either, but it does show weaknesses that NATO can exploit in the defense of one of its member states. While I can admit the underutilization/misuse of Russian air and armor might be a fluke, the inability of Russia to secure a quick or easy victory does give NATO an advantage it can press to minimize the risk of a large scale fait accompli operation against a NATO member state.
I would also argue, despite what some people in this thread might think, NATO is far more likely to be on the defensive side in a potential conflict with Russia. As such, analysis of a Russian offensive operation is a lot more useful than trying to judge Russia's defensive capabilities from its offensive ones.

I'm not a faggot euro but he still will after winter. It's not exclusively heating that needs Russian gas. Ovens and stoves, electricity in general, industrial and construction equipment, etc still all need it

This might be why.

Is it just me, or does there not seem to be much in the way of tank vs. tank combat?

I'd be curious to know the real-world results of Russia's doctrine of using gun-launched ATGM's. The U.S. gave up on that concept decades ago and I'm pretty sure they did it for a good reason.
