First, SocialBlade:
Let's ignore the rankings and focus instead on the number of new subs in the past 30 days. 10K is not a number to sneeze at for a new creator, but for a youtuber with 1.1M subs, that's about a 0.91% increase overall. It's also a steady number, consistent with the previous month's increase as shown by the 0.0% in green next to the 10K. His growth rate is sluggish despite consistent output. Below that is the total subs graph, and you'll note the flatline between spikes, almost like a heart monitor. That's not good. Unless he deliberately gets people's attention through video releases or twitter spergery, people aren't just watching his videos, coming across them organically and bingeing them, that sort of thing. Video views shows that he does get views with new videos, but the graph beneath of total video views shows those new videos don't have legs-- his simps (or hatewatchers like us) watch them once and forget them. Poor rewatchability, not getting new eyes on them as shown by the new subs numbers:
Is he getting views? Sure, some. His latest video came out on Saturday the 26th and you can see 100K new views on that day for it. Impressive in theory but he has 1.1M subs, so only 10% of his subs bothered to watch the day of. Chube's latest is currently sitting at 559K views, barely 50% sub engagement, and it brought in no new subs per the subscribers columns. He's preaching to his simps alone.
Gained views and subs over time in graphical form reinforces the musings above. While growth hasn't flatlined, it has stagnated. Troon Tube is not appealing to a mass market. To be fair, Olly also has videos on Nebula as a creator in Standard's stable, and that includes sponsor money on top of adsense! Next, where the real money lies: Patreon
Graphtreon is great for showing how many paypigs (aka Patrons) a creator has. Some will also show how much they make but Chube, true to his upper class English roots, would never be so vulgar as to speak of money publicly lol. The righthand graph shows the daily changes in paypigs and the drop is at the start of every month as Patreon bills people and pigs need to renew billing. This drop happens to every creator, but the depth of the dropoff says a lot about the retention factor of a creator. Typically a creator will then gain back pigs or get new ones over the course of the month, with their success or failure at this endeavor shown by the slope of the line. Until the last few months, Olly's been near flatlining and paypigs have quietly left at a steady clip. Not sure what the November increase is related to. The graph on the left shows the gentle decline of his overall paypigs over the past year, all of which occurred after he trooned out. Not a dramatic decrease but a steady one which only this month somewhat leveled out at a level almost exactly where he was pre-trooning.
The graphs above show Olly's numbers over the last year, but a wider look at two years shows both his baseline pre-troon around 6K, the tranny announcement spike around Jan 2021 and the gradual decline since then back down to his core paypigs. Youtubers are like cancer, if they aren't growing they're failing. At the moment, Olly has 319 more paypigs than he started with pre-transition over a year ago. Oof at that piddling growth, as sad and flaccid as his HRT dick.
One other good thing to note is that many people think there is a correlation between lots of Twitter followers and success on other platforms or through monetization. Is that true?
No, not really. Twitter is a useful tool for fan engagement but it is also a risky pit of vipers, as Olly's acquaintance Lindsay Ellis learned to her detriment. There is no correlation between Twitter follows and monetization.
So hopefully that helped in learning some fun and new ways to laugh at Olly!
