Question for Gehenna: is there any legitimacy to those fundraising texts/emails the Dems send out claiming that if you donate RIGHT NOW, then your donation will be matched 300% by powerful Dem backers? It always struck me as strange that you have these people who are willing to spend serious amounts of cash on the party, but ONLY if randos make smaller donations. You'd think that being committed enough to spend huge amounts of money would mean you'd donate anyway.

Not Gehenna at all but I'll answer anyway - If I were a rich fucker, the "matched %X" move is a great way to look like your offering all your allies all the support they could want, while also hedging your bets towards publicly popular measures. Sure, I'll support this edgecase candidate, and if they get edgecase public support I'll have only spent a pittance, while backing the bigger horses elsewhere, without anyone being able to accuse me of not helping 'enough'. That's assuming the matching is legit at all, but if it is, that'd be a decent reason why.

In theory, they can use those fundraising emails to gauge voter interest. After all, if you're willing to give them $5, you're probably going to vote for them. That way, they can tell their whales that there's significant interest and convince them to donate. Rich people do spend ridiculous amounts of money, but they do want to know if it's a good investment or not.

that would be obvious to everyone, for fucks sake i can't even pretend to know what pakistan is, the government seems to make up the rules as it goes along, its prime minister and presidents can change on a whim, the muslim league seems to be the real people in charge, they have an extensive military but its only used domestically.

It took me 13 hours to get in trouble with the law. Wife insisted on seeing the sites, I insisted on beating a random druggy hobo who accosted her with my cane. Resolved now, more or less solidified my decision to leave.

More terrifying for her, but did convince her to keep her and the kids in the airport. Dude was high on something and stark raving mad. I would have just gone past him but he lunged, unarmed, and grabbed onto my wife demanding money on a rather incoherent fashion. A few good wacks made him retreat.

Should thank him, honestly. Wife wasn't 100% on the move, but now is a lot more supportive on it.

I'm genuinely curious to see how many bugmen struggle to apply the new programming update and try and act against this still. This whole wild flip almost feels like they're determined to wake the bugmen up too to the games. So many things radically changing in the cult to their polar opposites this fast has to have some effect on it all.
