Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

I'd like for this thread to have a little more in the OP. A brief introduction paragraph for each animator who does minichimp outs on what funny dumb shit they've done in addition to sample tweets, what schools people go to and what conpanies they run in, and maybe a theory on how it got to be this way or those in the insular bubble screeing about criticism.

This thread has potential, it just needs a bit more.

Recently exiting the LA cartoon scene after "working" on several shows but never receiving a credit worth noting, Kate Leth somehow got a publishing deal with Simon & Schuster for an autobio graphic novel called Mall Goth, because I guess we're skipping from 80s to 2000s nostalgia this year. It's sure to be a delightful disappointment as the only reason anyone wants to read about mall goths is to see them fat 15-year-old titties, but Kate's cartooning skills are one step above Jim Davis.

Kate has never deserved her own thread as she is a derivative cow in every way, but I guess posting updates on her Troon Journey is more appropriate here than the She-Ra thread. She's 30-something days away from lopping her tits off, which is the one appealing thing about her. Naturally she's posting sexy photos to remind you of what you'll be missing. But she won't. She definitely won't miss them.

(She has a thorough history of being a bipolar alcoholic. She will miss them. She also has a comical understanding of the trans community and will inevitably ostracize herself by posting about her regrets.)

Her boyfriend or possibly husband (((Cohen))) does not give off obvious signs of homosexuality, but when you support your bisexual bipolar collar-me-daddy woman chopping off her tits, I don't know what else the motivation could be. She likes to HAVE a daddy but also to BE a daddy, so you know he's taking it up the ass at least from her.

These two clowns like to get high together, sometimes on shrooms! Now maybe they grow some funny shrooms in Halifax, but when I took them I fell more in love with my gendered organs, not less. In any case you'd think she'd be loathe to give up the real estate. You could fit a lot of shitty tattoo flash on those danglers.

IMO The OP sounds too much like a soapbox. I came here to laugh, not hear OP's personal opinions however valid they may be.

The modern animation industry has it's fair share of spergs, sex pests, and keyboard warriors whose hijinks far outshine, at least to us, whatever contributions to the art form they have made. We already have the John K. or Thomas Astruc threads as proof of that. Focus on that instead, please.

Assuming everyone in the American animation industry is a bunch of good angels. The majority of them are either retarded or dumb as hell. You can't expect half of them to do their jobs without acting like cows online. That is why there's this phase called the Equivalent Exchange.

TBF, there are still some genuinely nice people who work in animation like Matt Braly, the aformentioned Craig McCracken, Rob Renzetti, C.H. Greenblatt, Derek Drymon, and many others.

Mostly because they understand what makes cartoons visually entertaining and unique and respect their fanbase. Something that people like Dana Terrace and Kate Leth need to learn a thing or two about.

Exactly man! This why we really need a reboot for the American animation industry and replace half of the bad people with good folks. Including from top to bottom. Too bad it will take 1000 years until it gets fixed in animation years.

Speaking of Disney. There were some pencil tests made for Encanto right around before the gay bill was revealed, and a lot of artists were commenting that 'Disney should do it as a 2D film', along with doing another 2D feature again. Most the comments were from professional artists that had worked on small projects while working on projects on their own. Laughable.
