I'd hope they're doing something like that. Because last I heard was they were handing out AKs to urbanites and people were shooting each other in the streets over petty shit.
Reports of "saboteurs" getting shot in the street have been on the downswing the last few days, Sky News notwithstanding. It's possible that things were less organized at first because OH SHIT THE RUSSIANS ARE GOING TO BE HERE IN 48 HOURS, or it could have been anything from bubbas being bubbas to local gangs taking advantage of the chaos.

You need to keep in mind, war unites people REALLY fast and easily, ESPECIALLY if it's a defensive war. Nothing unites people like The Other, The Foreigner, The Invader, The Occupier, attacked us, bombed our cities, killed our civilians, and occupied our homeland. The Jingoistic shit that came out of 9/11 and Pearl Harbour weren't exaggerated and aren't strictly American traits.

There will be a massive insurgent movement, that will make occupation a certainty, anyone who thinks there won't is lying to themselves.
The Russians already secured Donbas. See, that's the thing, the Ukrainians aren't exactly saints themselves and violated the Minsk protocols repeatedly. That jingoistic shit, as you so eloquently put it, cuts both ways.

For sure. Which is why I fully expect Ukraine to not survive as a country intact. At the very least, they're going to lose the eastern portion of the country (Donbas et al), even if they're going to somehow regain their independence after Russia get bored/Putin gets KIA'd/NATO swoops in to save the day (lol). Western Ukraine will never tolerate Russian rule (puppeted or otherwise), and Eastern Ukraine will probably never go back to Kiev after this.

Apparently they do give a 3 day training camp because otherwise the way you are describing it would be retarded, like you are acting like they are picking AK's off the assembly line. No they get 3 days basic training which includes how to properly operate the fucking gun, unless you think they are so fucking stupid they cant handle such a basic task.
Maybe they need a fourth day for a few lessons on not shooting the neighbor in the back because he stole your newspaper one time.

They are supposedly releasing criminals from prison/jail and handing them guns. That's fucking stupid no matter how you try to spin it. And like another person said, most 2A people are more upset with the hypocrisy, myself included. But, I will agree in theory arming your people and training them on basic gun safety for a few hours can't necessarily hurt. But that theory will fall to shit if you don't do a little bit of a background check.

I'm not saying it's like going to chicago and handing out full auto mp4s, but it's pretty dumb to arm random motherfuckers.

Looks like a RUS heli. Another KA-25 kill?
I was thinking some kind of Russian attack helo. Mi-8s have a very unique silhouette. At this point I'd figure the Ukrainians wouldn't be ballsy to to run sorties during the day and use any remaining helicopters at night seeing how they received modern night vision from NATO. That is a god tier hit, from the front, no chance to evade. It doesn't help the Russians are still dumping off free shit to include MANPADs in their abortive thunder runs.
