I knew a pair of twin darkies who were JWs as a kid. Never seemed particularly weird from what I remember though they never had birthdays or anything. We played just like normal kids.

So Lloyd has a dash of Melinda Scott in there along with a lot of Russhole? It's just as well he's a Britbong, otherwise I could see yet another long and drawn out bunch of lolsuits coming Null's way once he finds his thread. One of the things you learn about the JWs is they either adopt, or continue to adhere to, translations that are not, or no longer, accepted in more mainstream Christianity. Indeed, most scholars think that "Jehovah" is a really shit translation of Yahweh, so you generally won't encounter it much outside of JW stuff, or really outdated translations of the Bible.
That is because their version of the Bible that they use, known as the New World Translation is exactly that. It was made by people who don't understand how ancient Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic work at all and linguistics in general. One of the things you learn about the JWs is they either adopt, or continue to adhere to, translations that are not, or no longer, accepted in more mainstream Christianity.
You’ve seen the Russel Greer thread, right? It makes me wonder if there are any ex-Mormons who are this insane, they have to be out there. I am very interested in Christian and pseudo-Christian type cults so this was definitely a treat
My non-JW mother let them indoctrinate me for hours/days as a kid because it was a free babysitter.I once had a pleasant and interesting conversation with a JW on the phone when they cold called our house. I talked to them for like 40 minutes about religion and the afterlife because I was bored and genuinely like talking about that stuff.
The next day this chick shows up at my parents house uninvited to talk to me (I also happened to be 16 at the time so a minor).
Never gave her the address and our number was unlisted.
It was freaky.
Oh god, I remember finding these the Caleb and Sophia videos in college and going down that rabbit hole one afternoon. I legit was late to work because of them. Also, now I have an excuse to talk about Caleb and Sophia!
It's a special treat because the people who talk about it are often themselves very cringe as well.

How does that make sense? It's above his head either way.The evidence in the Bible against it is that there were a plural number of nails driven through Jesus' wrists, and they affixed the "King of the Jews" notification over his head, and not his hands.
You have much to learn.I knew about Jehova’s Witnesses, but I never knew they were this cultish. Holy shit.
There is also huge historical precedent for the cross as an execution method. And the many christian martyrs who asked to be executed in a different manner out of respect and were thus executed upside down like Peter the apostle. It's basically what @NoReturn just said. They believe Jesus died on a "torture stake," because they believe stauros can only mean stake. Consequently, Watchtower artwork depicts as such. Although, I don't know if if specifically calculated to avoid idolatry or they actually believe it.

Indeed, most scholars think that "Jehovah" is a really shit translation of Yahweh, so you generally won't encounter it much outside of JW stuff, or really outdated translations of the Bible. Elsewhere, it's always Yahweh, God, Lord, him, etc. Meanwhile, my neighbor friend used to always tell me "Jehovah loves you" instead of "Jesus (or God) loves you." They insist that is the name of god, and it has to be used every time you refer to him. It's weird.
I'm pretty sure this guy followed his dick to where the eastern european women were. Also, I love how this moron complains that he engaged in cybersex because the JWs sexually repressed him. I mean, okay.... the JW's are controlling weirdos, but you were a married man when you did that. I think pretty much any Christian congregation would frown upon what you did.
I think the argument is that while the sign is indeed above his head in either example, it would be more accurate to say it was directly above his hands in the second. How does that make sense? It's above his head either way.
I wish Catholics did this; ever since they changed the Nicene Creed going to church has been offputting. The traditional version had a perfectly good flow to it and they needlessly switched it up because of some obscure new translation that came out of nowhere. One of the things you learn about the JWs is they either adopt, or continue to adhere to, translations that are not, or no longer, accepted in more mainstream Christianity.
It's a sincere belief, but it ties in nicely with the strong anti-cross, anti idolatry stance. It's also so retarded I think it was the first thing I questioned when I actually questioned my beliefs. How could literally everyone be wrong about the most important event in history? Come on.It's basically what @NoReturn just said. They believe Jesus died on a "torture stake," because they believe stauros can only mean stake. Consequently, Watchtower artwork depicts as such. Although, I don't know if if specifically calculated to avoid idolatry or they actually believe it.
Their sex and morality stuff is pretty bog standard Christian fare, he is just a whiny pervert. I mean, you can literally just move on with your life, if you're in some sort of anti-JW support group you haven't really escaped now have you. MOVE ON. People like this are absolutely addicted to cultish behavior, they may swing from one side to the other, but their basic nuttiness remains. Also, I love how this moron complains that he engaged in cybersex because the JWs sexually repressed him. I mean, okay.... the JW's are controlling weirdos, but you were a married man when you did that. I think pretty much any Christian congregation would frown upon what you did.
I just realized that this passage within JW dogma means there are no women in heaven, only men. That's why it's heaven, amirite boys? Maybe Nick Fuentes should convert.Revelation 14:
No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
Jehovah! Jehovah!Jehova hates wizards. Do you really want to play with something that Jehova hates? Don't you want to be Jehova's friend?
but we're not going to see an increase in the non-religious because they don't breed.
How does that make sense? It's above his head either way.

That right. I used a 2000 year old meme. Get dunked on, Alexamenos.
You have much to learn.
If you don't watch anything else I've linked, watch the section about Jeptha's daughter that starts at 3:22 in the 3rd video.
As an exJW I can attest that they benefit greatly from public ignorance. They are an aggressive cult that uses "spiritual warfare" aka total shunning as an emotional blackmail tool to keep people in line.I knew about Jehova’s Witnesses, but I never knew they were this cultish. Holy shit.
I can't state Lloyd's exact motives, but you have to understand just why some former members are such staunch activists.Frankly, I can't think of anything more pointless than spending years of one's life seething over a religious group that one's no longer involved with. Wouldn't be better to just live one's life based on one's own choices and newfound beliefs now that one's free from the influence of what was supposedly a cult?
What's the point of centering your newfound "freedom" around petty fights on the internet about religious dogmas or adopting an identity that's solely based around not-being something?
At least you got to go to college ...I'm an exmo. Next time I think my upbringing was insane, I'll look back on here. JWs are next level batshit. No offense, but you are.
